Kolkata Knight Rider's mentor, Gautam Gambhir, has shared the franchise's ambitious goal of becoming the most successful team in the Indian Premier League. 

In an interview, Gambhir expressed his contentment with KKR's recent triumph but highlighted that their journey to greatness is far from over.

"We are still two trophies away from MI and CSK. I am content today, but we are still not the most successful IPL franchise. To do that, we need to win the tournament three more times, and that will require a lot of effort. Our next mission is to make KKR the most successful team in the IPL. There will be no better feeling than that. But, the journey towards that has only begun," Gambhir explained.

Recalling the emotions of clinching their third IPL title, the former KKR captain described the experience as indescribable.

"When you enter the IPL, your initial aim is to reach the playoffs. As you get closer, you think about finishing in the top two. Once you're there, you aim for the final, and ultimately, you want to win it. Each stage brings excitement, challenges, and nervousness," he shared.

"Today, sitting at home, I am a very happy man. The IPL is a league where you cannot underestimate any team. It's such a high-intensity tournament that winning it makes you feel exceptionally good about yourself," he added.

"For me, what's next is the vacation with my girls and my wife. I am looking forward to it. You get rejuvenated with such breaks, as you don't have to think about cricket at all. There is nothing better than spending time with family. After playing such a high-intensity tournament and winning it, there can be no better feeling," Gambhir concluded.

After leading KKR to their third IPL championship, Gambhir is now eager to spend quality time with his family, viewing it as the perfect way to unwind and rejuvenate. However, the rumours are concurring that Gambhir has been offered the Head Coach job, with Shahrukh Khan offering him a blank Cheque to manage KKR for 10 Years.
