    Jamada

JAMADA showed steady improvement over hurdles last season and looks capable of making a successful transition to fences. Olly Murphy’s six year old opened his account with a four length victory at Fakenham in April before finishing a respectable third on his handicap debut at Aintree, beaten just over nine lengths in a competitive ten runner contest. He returns from a 151 day break off a mark of 108, just 1lb lower than at Aintree and remains relatively unexposed after six starts over hurdles. The return to 2m on good ground should suit, while Sean Bowen retains the ride. Four Springs is an obvious danger, but Jamada receives 10lbs from that rival and could improve considerably for the switch to chasing.

    Donnie AzoffNAP

DONNIE AZOFF has been a model of consistency this season and looks well placed to record another victory at a course where he has previously enjoyed success. Jamie Snowden’s ten year old has finished in the first two on all four starts since returning from a break in May, including a victory over 2m3f at Newton Abbot in June. He was beaten just a length and three quarters at the same venue last time, when a slowly run race did not play to his strengths and has since been eased 1lb to a mark of 118. He is proven on quick ground and Isabelle Ryder’s 5lbs claim remains valuable. With conditions in his favour, Donnie Azoff can return to winning ways.

    FenlanderE/W

FENLANDER showed signs of returning to form when third over this C&D last week and looks capable of building on that effort. Olly Williams’ five year old completed a hat trick of 6f victories earlier in the season, including two at Leicester, before finding life tougher from higher marks. However, he was beaten just two lengths on his latest appearance and remains on a mark of 70, having won here from 68 in May. He also finished a close third in a stronger Class 4 handicap at Newmarket in July, suggesting he remains competitive at this level. The slower ground is a slight concern, but Warren Fentiman’s 3lbs claim is useful and Fenlander could make his presence felt.
