Premier League Darts: Night Twelve
The 3Arena in Dublin is set to stage four more exciting quarter-final matches
There's a new leader in the Premier League Darts after eleven rounds. Jonny Clayton's second win in four weeks has helped him leapfrog Michael van Gerwen at the league's summit. On to night twelve, the 3Arena in Dublin is set to stage four more exciting quarter-final matches. Here at betting.bet we'll run the rule over the quarter-finals, bringing the latest odds from our betting partners at Unibet.
James Wade v Michael van Gerwen
James Wade and Michael van Gerwen will meet for the third time in four weeks as both players look to consolidate their position in the top four. Van Gerwen defeated Wade in last week's second semi-final before going on to lose the final against new league leader, Jonny Clayton.
James Wade' loss to van Gerwen last week was the first time in four weeks he's failed to reach the final. Three consecutive final appearances is the best run any player has put together in this year's Premier League.
Whilst MVG will be the bookies' favourite to progress on Thursday, James Wade has been in excellent form recently and gets our vote.
Match Odds
- James Wade: 7/4
- Michael van Gerwen: 4/9
Gerwyn Price v Joe Cullen
Gerwyn Price has looked well below par in recent weeks. Since sitting out week five with a hand injury Price has lost in four of the six quarter-final matches he's played and hasn't made the final since week three.
Cullen and Price have met twice in this year's Premier League with the Englishman coming out on top on both occasions. We're going to defy the formbook and back Gerwyn Price to get back to winning ways this week.
Match Odds
- Gerwyn Price: 13/25
- Joe Cullen: 8/5
Michael Smith v Gary Anderson
The bottom two in the Premier League meet on Thursday in a match neither player can really afford to lose. Michael Smith is the only player yet to win any of the previous eleven weekly meetings in the Premier League. Smith finished runner-up to Anderson in week six which ironically represents the Scot's only win so far. Neither player has won a quarter-final tie since meeting in the final in week six.
Anderson and Smith have one win apiece from their two Premier League meetings so far. However, Gary Anderson was the only player to average under 90.00 last week, losing 6-2 to Jonny Clayton with an 87.44 average. For that reason, we're giving this to Michael Smith.
Match Odds
- Michael Smith: 8/13
- Gary Anderson: 13/10
Jonny Clayton v Peter Wright
The last quarter-final of the night may we'll offer the highest standard of darts. It's first versus third as Jonny Clayton and Peter Wright meet.
Clayton has won two of the last four Premier League nights and has not lost any of his last five quarter-final matches. However, Wright is enjoying a consistent run of form himself. Wright has lost just one of his last six quarter-finals.
Peter Wright defeated Jonny Clayton in the final on night one in Cardiff but has lost all three head-to-head meetings in the Premier League since. The pair met last week with the Welshman edging out his Scottish opponent 6-5 in the semi-final.
Match Odds
- Jonny Clayton: 7/10
- Peter Wright: 11/10
