We stand with the nation in grief following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II
Her Majesty the Queen stood as a symbol of Britain, bringing comfort, leadership and steadfastness to millions over her 70-year reign. On behalf of Kontempry Ltd and our employees, we send our deepest condolences to the Royal Family and are united in remembrance of her life, which was wholly dedicated to public service.
We will continue to commemorate the life of Her Majesty the Queen and pay our respects, continuing our support for British Horse Racing in the near and distant future, investing in sponsorships at racecourses across the country.
Her Majesty had a lifelong passion for British horse racing. She was twice Britain's champion Flat owner. While those titles were claimed in 1954 and 1957, she continued to enjoy ongoing success over the following decades, most famously in 2013 when Estimate carried her iconic silks to Gold Cup victory at Royal Ascot, the race meeting more associated with her than any other.
Some of the Queen's memorable horses won four of the five British Classics. Carrozza won the 1957 Oaks under champion jockey Lester Piggott. Pall Mall was victorious in the 1958 2000 Guineas, and in 1974, Highclere captured the 1000 Guineas before completing a Classic double in the Prix de Diane at Chantilly.
Dunfermline is, without doubt, the Queen's greatest horse and completed a Classic double of her own when landing both the Oaks and St Leger in her owner-breeder's 1977 silver jubilee year. The Queen will be deeply missed by the horse racing community for many years to come.
We thank her for her decades of service to our country. Our thoughts and condolences are with Her Majesty's family at this difficult time.
