The Premier League Darts' league stage will reach the halfway point after Thursday's round of matches and it's all still to play for in the push for a spot in the play-offs later this year. The action on night eight will be staged at Newcastle's Utilita Arena and here at betting.bet we'll preview all four quarter-final matches, providing odds from our partners at Unibet.

Michael van Gerwen v Peter Wright

Peter Wright has endured a disastrous Premier League campaign up to now and suffered a comprehensive 6-1 defeat at the hands of MVG last week. Wright has won just one of his seven quarter-final matches to date whilst Michael van Gerwen has reached the semi-final in six of the seven rounds of matches so far. This seems like a routine win for MVG, but odds of 49/20 for a player of Wright's calibre could be too long to ignore. We're going to back Peter Wright to win the night's opening match.

Match Odds

  • Michael van Gerwen: 2/7
  • Peter Wright: 49/20

Nathan Aspinall v Dimitri Van den Bergh

On paper, this match was the toughest to call last week and so it proved. Belgian, Van den Bergh just edged out Nathan Aspinall to claim a 6-4 win in Nottingham. However, it's a coin toss as to who is going to progress to the semi-final this week. We're going to give this to Nathan Aspinall based simply on the fact he's yet to lose back-to-back quarter-final matches in this year's competition.

Match odds

  • Nathan Aspinall: 22/25
  • Dimitri Van den Bergh: 22/25

Gerwyn Price v Jonny Clayton

Last week's event in Nottingham was won by Gerwyn Price who has now jumped up to second overall in the Premier League table. Price is yet to lose a semi-final match in this year's Premier League having reached the final each time he's progressed beyond the quarter-final. If he defeats compatriot, Jonny Clayton for a second week in a row, he's an excellent bet to win the second semi-final.

Match odds

  • Gerwyn Price: 4/7
  • Jonny Clayton: 13/10

Michael Smith v Chris Dobey

Chris Dobey was a losing finalist last week having edged out Michael Smith in the quarter-final. The highlight of his evening was a 6-0 whitewash over league leader, Michael van Gerwen. Last week's win halted a run of five straight quarter-final losses for this year's Masters champion. We're backing Dobey to build on last week's win and defeat Michael Smith for a second consecutive week.

Match odds

  • Michael Smith: 3/5
  • Chris Dobey: 5/4
