The highly-anticipated heavyweight showdown between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk is back on with the super-fight now rescheduled for May 18th. The first undisputed world heavyweight title fight in a generation was thrown into doubt last week as Tyson Fury suffered a cut during sparring and the bout was dramatically postponed just two weeks before it was set to go ahead.

WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury and the current WBA (Super), IBF, IBO and WBO world champion, Oleksandr Usyk are vying to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 2000 and the first ever in the four-belt era.

The rescheduled fight will still take place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and is being billed as โ€˜Ring of Fireโ€™. Both boxers remain undefeated as professionals but head into the biggest fight of their respective careers on the back of some far-from-convincing performances. Tyson Fury claimed a dubious split decision win over boxing debutant, Francis Ngannou at the same Saudi Arabian venue back in October 2023. Ngannou knocked Fury to the canvas in what wouldโ€™ve been one of the biggest shocks in heavyweight boxing history. Meanwhile, Usykโ€™s most recent fight, last August, saw the two-weight world champion survive a questionable โ€˜low-blowโ€™ call against Daniel Dubois before eventually stopping the British challenger in round nine.
