In a bittersweet announcement, the renowned sprinter Gizmo Cash has officially retired from the racing circuit, just a month short of his fourth birthday. The news was confirmed by Jamie McGee, a prominent figure in the racing community, citing a minor injury that prompted the decision. 

McGee expressed, "He had a little injury since the final of the Islandbridge, and Grandad got him back to his best for Lifford. He broke the clock there, but after the final, it flared up again, so we decided to call it a day. He's a hundred percent now, but we don't want to risk him getting seriously hurt at four years of age."

Gizmo Cash leaves behind an illustrious career marked by numerous shattered track records, including a national title and the prestigious accolade of being named the 2022 Sprinter of the Year.

His journey commenced with a victory at Drumbo Park in June 2021, swiftly followed by an impressive win at Shelbourne in 28.89. His exceptional speed and talent quickly garnered attention, propelling him to success in the racing world.
