Premier League leaders, Liverpool travel to Brentford in the weekend’s early kick-off and have an opportunity to move five points clear of Manchester City and Arsenal for a few hours at least. Looking ahead to this Saturday lunchtime kick-off at the Gtech Community Stadium, here at betting.bet you’ll find our in-depth match preview with expert betting tips and the latest match odds and free bet offers from our partners at Betfred.

Form

Table-topping Liverpool head to West London having earned 54 points from their 24 league games so far. The Reds are second-favourites to Manchester City in the current outright betting market and have won four of their past five league games. Jurgen Klopp’s side earned a 3-1 win at home to Burnley in their most recent fixture thanks to goals from Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez.

Premier League highlights: Liverpool 3-1 Burnley

Hosts, Brentford sit 14th in the Premier League table and head into the weekend full of confidence after a solid 2-0 win away at Wolves last weekend. The Bees have earned 25 points in 23 matches.

Premier League highlights: Wolves 0-2 Brentford

Brentford v Liverpool: head-to-head

Brentford, who are sponsored by Hollywood Bet, ran out 3-1 winners in this corresponding fixture last season thanks to goals from Yoane Wissa, Bryan Mbuemo and an Ibrahima Konate own goal. However, that win was Brentford’s only win against Liverpool since 1938. The Reds won 3-0 when the sides met at Anfield in the reverse fixture in November with a Mohamed Salah brace and a Diogo Jota goal the difference.

Betting tips

Brentford may have won this fixture last season but we’re not looking past Liverpool in the match betting this time around. Despite losing at Arsenal two weeks ago, Liverpool are building up some real momentum in what will be Jurgen Klopp’s last season in charge of the Merseysiders. Liverpool to win at 3/5 is excellent value.

Liverpool’s solid recent Premier League form has been down to the excellent goal-scoring form of attacking trio Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez. All three were on target against Burnley last time out and in Liverpool’s last six matches in all competitions Diogo Jota has netted five times, Nunez has four and Luis Diaz has scored three. We’re not opposed to backing two or even all three of these to score at any time against Brentford and there is superb value available for any of Liverpool’s attackers in any available goal scorer market. Here’s a summary of the odds for all three in various markets:

Player to scoreAnytimeFirstLast2 or more
Diogo Jota11/104/14/113/2
Darwin Nunez13/109/29/28/1
Luis Diaz13/517/217/220/1

Brentford's in-demand talisman

At the other end of the pitch, Ivan Toney has made a fine return from suspension. The Brenford forward has been linked with a summer move away from The Bees and a record of three goals in four league games since serving a long-term suspension will no doubt add another 10 or 20 million onto his price tag. Ivan Toney is 6/4 to score at any time against Liverpool.

One thing we’re certain of at the Gtech Community Stadium is goals. Both teams have scored in seven out of Liverpool’s last nine matches in all competitions whilst Brentford’s 2-0 win at Wolves halted a run of eight matches involving Saturday’s hosts without a clean sheet. Both teams to score is available at 8/15 whilst over 2.5 match goals is equally as attractive at 1/2.

Match odds

  • Brentford: 4/1
  • Draw: 10/3
  • Liverpool: 3/5
