Arsenal travel to Burnley on Saturday hoping to keep their Premier League title challenge alive. The Gunners head into the weekend two points behind league leaders, Liverpool but with Brentford v Liverpool kicking off at 12:30, Mikel Arteta’s side may kick off five points adrift of the pace-setters. As we look ahead to this key fixture at the Turf Moor, we will provide up to date team news, match insights and expert betting tips whilst also offering the very best match odds and exclusive free bets from our betting partners at Ladbrokes.

Form

Burnley are currently seven points adrift of safety at the bottom of the Premier League table. Vincent Kompany’s side have taken just 13 points from 24 matches so far and are winless in six Premier League games. Their most recent fixture resulted in a 3-1 defeat away at Liverpool whilst they fought back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Fulham in their last match at Turf Moor.

Arsenal head to Lancashire as one of the division’s most in-form teams. The Gunners have won four straight league games by an aggregate 16-2 scoreline. This run includes last weekend’s superb 6-0 win away at West Ham United.

Burnley v Arsenal: head-to-head

Unsurprisingly, Arsenal have the superior record in recent fixtures between these sides. The Gunners won the reverse fixture at the Emirates Stadium 3-1 in November thanks to goals from Leandro Trossard, William Saliba and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Premier League highlights: Arsenal 3-1 Burnley

Burnley have won just one of the previous 17 Premier League matches the two sides have contested and have not beaten Arsenal in a league game at Turf Moor since 1973.

Betting tips

Burnley may not have won any of their past six league games but Saturday’s hosts have scored in each of the last five. However, they now come up against the league’s meanest defence. Arsenal have conceded just 22 goals in their 24 league games and we’re backing Arsenal to win to nil at 23/20. With Arsenal possessing a record of 16 goals scored in four league games in 2024, over 2.5 match goals looks a certainty on Saturday at 3/5.

Arsenal have scored more set-piece goals than any other side in the Premier League this season whilst Burnley’s much-publicised set-piece woes continue. We’re looking at which Arsenal players may capitalise on Burnley’s frailties, particularly from corner kicks and both of the Gunners’ central defenders have been amongst the goals recently. Gabriel Magalhaes has scored three in four matches while William Saliba netted Arsenal’s opening goal against West Ham United last weekend. You can back Gabriel or Saliba to score at any time at Turf Moor at odds of 5/1 and 15/2 respectively.

Leandro Trossard scored in the reverse fixture and the Belgian is a solid option in the anytime goalscorer market. Trossard has netted three in Arsenal’s last four league games and is priced at 6/5 to score at any time.

Whilst Trossard is the market leader in most goalscorer markets, we cannot ignore the form of Bukayo Saka. The England international scored twice at West Ham United last weekend to take his tally to five goals in Arsenal’s last five league games. Saka is 7/5 to score at any time. However, given that he has opened the scoring in two of Arsenal’s last five league games, he arguably offers better value at 9/2 to score first.
