We look at and rate Katie Midwinter's tips from Ascot & Haydock
Katie is the winner of a tipster/presenter competition with RacingTV. She gave her tips to RacingTV today and we think she is spot on the money with a couple , even with a 25/1 outsider which definitely has strong each way claims.
14:25 Ascot - Rare Edition (IRE) - 7/1
Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards Handicap Hurdle (GBB Race)
TIP RATING: A
OUR TIP: RARE EDITION - 7/1
Harry Cobden partners with RARE EDITION again, eyeing improvement at a longer distance after a win at Kempton. A modest weight increase and preferred ground conditions hint at strong potential. Santos Blue, showing strength at Wetherby despite equipment issues, is dependable. Despite its name, Bad, with a commendable performance and new cheekpieces, has potential under Ben Pauling. Hyland, consistent and now at an optimal distance, is a contender. Irish Hill, aiming to repeat last year's success at a lower mark, is a solid each-way bet with Freddie Gingell.
14:40 Haydock - Botox Has (FR) - 9/4
Virgin Bet Rendlesham Hurdle (Grade 2) (GBB Race)
TIP RATING: A
OUR TIP: BOTOX HAS - 9/4
BOTOX HAS didn't take the top spot in the Cleeve Hurdle, ending up a bit behind, 5 1/2 lengths to be exact, from some of the best in the game. He's shown he can handle a flat track, just like his win before this proves, and he's not picky about the ground conditions at all – he's all in, rain or shine. On the other hand, Butch is coming up as a strong contender, showcasing his stamina with a solid win at Cheltenham. He's definitely one to watch.
15:00 Ascot - Rapper - 25/1
Injured Jockeys Fund Ambassadors Programme Swinley Handicap Chase (Premier Handicap) (GBB Race)
TIP RATING: B
OUR TIP: VICTTORINO - 3/1
We were all in on VICTTORINO after his wins here in November and December. He's only 8lbs up from his victory over Two For Gold, especially impressive considering a couple of late falls in that race. That's solid form, even though he seemed a bit off at Cheltenham. Definitely keep an eye on Larry too; he's got a real knack for this track.
15:36 Ascot - Ahoy Senor (IRE)
Betfair Ascot Chase (Grade 1) (GBB Race)
TIP RATING: C+
OUR TIP: L'HOMME PRESSE - 9/4
Venetia Williams' L'HOMME PRESSE is a standout, though he tends to jump left, which was noticeable in the King George. This trait could be his downfall, especially if he doesn't handle his second run after a break well, as has happened before. However, if he's close to his best, he's the one to beat. Pic D’orhy might benefit from drier conditions but likely won't surpass the favorite if he runs to form. With Ahoy Senor also competing, this race is shaping up to be an exciting one.
