Thanks to odds from our betting partners at Betfair, here is a roundup of some of our top betting tips for this afternoon’s football.
Millwall v Watford: Watford to win - 9/5
Watford are one of few clubs in the Football League that have actually earned more points on the road than at home this season. The Hornets have taken 24 from their 17 away league games and lost just one of their past nine Championship fixtures away from Vicarage Road. In contrast, Millwall have the second-worst home record in the division, earning just 16 points in 17 matches at The New Den and remain winless at home in 2024.
Plymouth Argyle v Ipswich Town: Ipswich Town to win - 8/13
Plymouth Argyle may have earned all three points away at Middlesbrough last time out but their recent home form has been poor. The Pilgrims have won just one of their past six home league games and none of the last three. On Saturday afternoon they host a promotion-chasing Ipswich Town side on a four-game winning streak. At shades of odds-on, Ipswich Town are excellent value for the win.
Bolton Wanderers v Cambridge United: Bolton Wanderers to win - 2/5
Bolton Wanderers may have lost their last two matches in League One but on Saturday they play a Cambridge United team that they completely outplayed less than two weeks ago. This time, Bolton Wanderers have home advantage and while they boast one of the best home records in the division, only 13 of Cambridge United’s 38 points this season have been earned on the road. Cambridge United head up to Lancashire managerless after Neil Harris quit to take charge at Championship strugglers, Millwall.
Fleetwood Town v Wigan Athletic: Wigan Athletic to win - 13/8
The worst home record in League One belongs to Fleetwood Town with just 12 points in 17 matches at Highbury and on Saturday they take on a resurgent Wigan Athletic side that has earned seven points from their last three league games. Wigan Athletic’s 1-0 over Bolton Wanderers in the week was particularly impressive and although it may be too late for The Latics to make a push for the play-offs they will want to end the season strongly.
Bradford City v Notts County: Bradford City to win - 8/11
Bradford City are one of the most in-form teams in League Two and head into the weekend in the midst of a three-game winning streak. The Bantams may be 16th in League Two but with just a five-point gap between them and the play-offs, they will certainly be eagerly looking up in the coming weeks. In contrast, Notts County have been in free-fall since Stuart Maynard replaced Luke Williams as manager. Notts County’s embarrassing 4-3 defeat at home to basement club, Sutton United extended Maynard’s record to just one win in seven in League Two.
