Wolverhampton Wanderers host Fulham at Molineux at the weekend in one of five Premier League fixtures scheduled for Saturday. As we look forward to this fixture between two of the division’s in-form sides we’ll offer the latest team news and betting tips as well as exclusive free bet offers and match odds from our betting partners at BoyleSports.
Form
Wolves were soundly beaten 3-0 away at Newcastle United last weekend but still remain right in contention for European qualification. Gary O’Neil’s side sit 10th in the Premier League. Four points off the top seven with 38 points in 27 matches.
Saturday’s opponents, Fulham are just three points and two positions worse off than Wolves having won three of their past four league games. Fulham’s last away league game saw them take all three points from Old Trafford in a 2-1 win over Manchester United whilst last weekend Marco Silva’s side earned a comfortable 3-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion at Craven Cottage.
Wolverhampton Wanderers v Fulham: head-to-head
Fulham ended a run of six games without a win against Wolves by winning the reverse fixture earlier this season. In a match that produced three penalties, Fulham emerged 3-2 winners thanks to a 94th minute spot kick.
Fulham’s record at Molineux is poor and they’ve not won away at Wolves since 1985. In fact, Fulham have not even scored a goal in their last four visits to Molineux, a goalless run stretching back to December 2016. The corresponding fixture last season ended in a 0-0 draw.
Betting tips
We cannot ignore Fulham’s dreadful away record against Wolves. But Wolves are simply not the same side without Hwang Hee-chan and Matheus Cunha. The draw is priced generously at 12/5 but Fulham to win at 7/4 is too good not to consider.
All five Premier League matches involving Fulham in 2024 have produced at least three goals whilst Wolves’ last six league games have averaged 3.66 goals per game. Over 2.5 match goals is a solid bet at 5/6.
Wolves will be without top goalscorer, Hwang Hee-chan for up to six weeks with a hamstring injury whilst Matheus Cunha remains sidelined. The two forwards have between them accounted for 19 of Wolves’ Premier League goals this season. In their absence, Pedro Neto will be expected to step up. The Portuguese international is likely to be deployed as a centre forward / false nine against Fulham and will be well supported at 3/1 to score at any time.
