CLOUD DANCER - 7/2
CLOUD DANCER emerged victorious in a junior National Hunt hurdle at Newbury last February, preserving his novice status as a result. In his only appearance this season, he delivered a commendable performance, finishing behind the highly regarded Cheltenham Festival handicap prospect, Doddiethegreat, at Ascot. A move to a longer distance looks likely to enhance his prospects. His stablemate, Johnny Jump Up, also deserves attention after a triumphant debut at Fontwell, as does Fierce Warrior, a previous winner over this course and distance.

SIR ROCK - 5/4
Since transitioning to steeplechase, SIR ROCK has been on an impressive streak, and the 4 lb increase in his weight following his recent triumph at Fontwell seems unlikely to hinder his chance of securing a third consecutive win. Elpologreg, who recently won at Fakenham, stands out as the main contender to follow Toby Lawes' 7-year-old, with the unpredictable Baddesley also in the mix.

SALVATORE - 15/8
SALVATORE, with two victories on the Flat to his name, is poised for improvement as he transitions to handicap races, starting from what appears to be a reasonable initial rating. Sanitiser emerges as the preferred runner-up, following his notable debut over hurdles at Kempton for the Gary Moore stable. Both Crews Pitch and Uncle Arthur are considered strong contenders for placing, each with legitimate claims for an each-way bet.

JERASH - EVS
JERASH seems favorably positioned to succeed as he transitions to hurdling for his upcoming race. After finishing second in a steeplechase at Fontwell last time, where his jumping left a bit to be desired, a return to hurdles combined with a shorter distance could be the perfect strategy. San Pedro, who secured a victory over this course and distance two outings ago, leads the list of challengers, closely followed by I See You Well.

BORN AT MIDNIGHT - 5/2
BORN AT MIDNIGHT enters with a proven track record of success over this course and distance, an advantage at a venue like this. Assuming the race isn't too soon following his victory last week, the nine-year-old, who is generally reliable, appears well-suited to win again despite a 7lb penalty. Delgany Monarch, who lost his rider at Wincanton in his most recent outing, returns to the Sussex track where he claimed victory in April of the previous year, a move seen as a positive sign. Flemen's Tipple is expected to deliver his typically solid performance.

COLOURS ON CANVAS - 2/1
COLOURS ON CANVAS still has plenty of potential to unveil and is poised for further progress, even while carrying the top weight. The increase in distance during his last outing here a month ago revealed additional capability, and considering his form as a novice, it's plausible to think he may still be ahead of the handicapper's assessment. Nordic Tiger, who is aiming for a third consecutive win, and Small Bad Bob stand out as the principal challengers according to their recent performances.
