Luke Littler to Swerve Two Darts Tournaments
Littler, alongside World No. 1 Humphries and Aspinall, are among five Tour Card Holders not attending.
Luke Littler will not participate in the upcoming Players Championship events in Germany, joining Premier League of Darts colleagues Luke Humphries and Nathan Aspinall in skipping the tournaments.
At just 17, Littler has had a packed schedule since making waves with his historic performance at the World Darts Championship, winning three titles and participating in the Premier League for six weeks as a wildcard entrant.
Despite winning the Bahrain Masters in January, which didn't contribute to his ranking points, Littler continued to impress by securing his first ProTour victory in Wigan during February.
Balancing his time between the Premier League, Euro Tour Card Holder Qualifiers, and subsequent Players Championships, the young star also clinched the Belgian Darts Open last weekend, defeating Rob Cross in the finale.
As he gears up for the seventh Premier League night in Nottingham this Thursday, Littler was anticipated to compete in Hildesheim, Germany, for two more Players Championship events early next week. Nonetheless, the PDC has announced his absence, alongside World No 1 Humphries and Aspinall, among five Tour Card Holders not attending.
Christian Perez and Adrian Lewis will also miss the event, along with the other five Premier League players, except for the current front-runner, Michael van Gerwen, who will be in attendance.
The details surrounding Littler's non-appearance remain unclear, though it's possible he opted for a deserved break.
Littler made his first public comments on Monday following a tense exchange with Ricardo Pietreczko at the Belgian Darts Open, where Pietreczko appeared visibly upset with Littler during their handshake at the conclusion of the semi-final.
