Nicky Henderson Pulls Three Day Two Runners Out of Cheltenham

In a Wednesday morning statement, Henderson confirmed that Jonbon, First Street, and Kingston Pride are out of day two's lineup, hinting at more withdrawals to come.

For Cheltenham Festival bettors, the withdrawal of three horses from Nicky Henderson's stable on the second day is pivotal news.

This development is particularly notable in light of Constitution Hill's absence from the Champion Hurdle favourites due to a lung infection announced just days prior.

Henderson's challenging start to the festival saw Jeriko Du Reponet and Iberico Lord, among others from his team, not completing their races.

In a Wednesday morning statement, Henderson confirmed that Jonbon, First Street, and Kingston Pride are out of day two's lineup, hinting at more withdrawals to come.

Henderson's statement highlighted the dilemma:

"I'm afraid we have had to make some very tough decisions following the very disappointing performances of all bar one of our horses yesterday," he said.

"There is obviously something affecting nearly all our horses and consequently we have reluctantly decided that Jonbon, First Street and Kingston Pride will not run today.

"Despite the lack of clear reasons for the underperformance, and with all of yesterday's runners showing no post-race issues, the decision was made in the best interest of the horses and all involved, leading to a disappointing turn for the team and bettors alike."

If you are one of the MANY bettors who have backed one of Henderson's runners, then let's hope you have registered with Bet365, William Hill or SkyBet. These are some of the many bookies offering NRNB offers for Cheltenham.
