The draw has been made for the UEFA Champions League quarter-final and semi-final with English sides, Manchester City and Arsenal on course to meet in the semi-final. Holders, Manchester City will take on 14-time winners, Real Madrid with the first leg set to be staged at the Santiago Bernabeu. Arsenal’s reward for their penalty shootout win over FC Porto in the round of 16 is a quarter-final match against Bayern Munich and Spurs’ all-time top scorer, Harry Kane.
If both Manchester City and Arsenal win their respective quarter-final matches they will meet in a mouth-watering two-legged semi-final.
The other half of the draw looks to be the easier half. Atletico Madrid take on Borussia Dortmund after defeating Inter Milan and PSV Eindhoven respectively in the last-16. The winner is set to face either Paris Saint-Germain or Barcelona in the semi-finals.
What effect has the draw had on the outright odds?
Manchester City remain the bookies’ favourites at 7/4 whilst quarter-final opponents, Real Madrid have eased out to 11/2. The big movers are Paris Saint-Germain who have shortened into 8/1 ahead of their quarter-final against Barcelona.
