IMPERIAL ALEX - 5/2

IMPERIAL ALEX has consistently secured second-place finishes recently and seems on the brink of his long-awaited first win over fences. Tom Lacey's contender is expected to benefit from a race that favors stamina, and he is the pick to outperform the equally consistent Airtothethrone. The latter, an eight-year-old, was narrowly beaten into second place at Taunton last month and is poised to be a strong contender if he replicates that performance. Lermoos Legend, making a comeback, is also worth watching, especially with his stable's current winning form.

SEDGE WREN -5/1

SEDGE WREN, absent since achieving two novice wins last season, has had the form of her second victory prove quite reliable. Entering handicaps with what appears to be a reasonable initial rating, she is poised to overcome a 13-month break and make a triumphant debut in this category. Blue Beach, who was just edged out in a recent return to hurdles by a local expert at Market Rasen, is expected to deliver a strong performance once again. Meanwhile, Tilly Toughnut, coming off a win at Exeter, still has potential that hasn't been fully revealed.

REGARDE - 3/1

Having secured two victories at this track this season, REGARDE is tipped to return to winning ways, assuming he has fully recovered from his heavy fall at Ffos Las last month. The addition of first-time cheekpieces, alongside his customary tongue tie, could give him the edge needed to surpass Minella Double, who must improve on recent performances to make an impact on his chase debut. Loup de Maulde is scheduled to compete in a hurdles race at Uttoxeter on Saturday, but his participation in this race would certainly add an intriguing element.

FULGURIX - 10/1 E/W

Ballybeen and Walkinthewoods, despite not having won over fences yet, have shown consistent form and deserve considerable regard in a contest like this; they're expected to be close competitors. However, FULGURIX appears to be a promising choice. On his comeback at Uttoxeter in January, he seemed to need the run, leading to him being pulled up, but he has since been eased 1lb in the weights. Now only 1lb above his winning mark from a victory at Sedgefield last April, the nine-year-old looks well-placed for further success.

HELLO CELLO - 3/1

With a pedigree that includes several winners, HELLO CELLO is selected for her debut, representing connections with a reputation for preparing their horses to perform strongly from the outset. Sired by Jet Away, known for offspring that excel on soft terrain, she is the preferred choice over other first-timers, Corran Sands and Prickly Rose, from the successful Pam Sly stable. Among those with racing experience, Longhouse Legacy stands out as the top contender following a commendable performance at Sedgefield last December.
