The Premier League resumes on Thursday as darts’ elite head to the 3Arena in Dublin for night eight of sixteen in this year’s league stage. As we look ahead to another night of top-class darts, here at betting.bet you’ll find betting tips ahead of this week’s quarter finals as well as the latest odds and free bet offers from tournament sponsors, BetMGM.
Luke Humphries v Peter Wright
Peter Wright finally got off the mark in Nottingham last week, defeating Gerwyn Price in the night’s opening quarter-final. However, Wright’s resurgence was short-lived as he was steamrolled 6-1 in the semi-final against Luke Humphries. World number one, Humphries went on to win overall for a second week running to move to the top of the Premier League table. There is nothing to suggest that Peter Wright will reverse last week’s result on Thursday so we have to back Luke Humphries to take the first quarter-final of the evening.
Predicted Winner: Luke Humphries
Nathan Aspinall v Rob Cross
Rob Cross has lost to Nathan Aspinall in three of the last four weeks in the Premier League however, Cross has been no closer than when being edged out 6-5 one week ago. We’re tipping the former world champion to finally get the better of Aspinall and Rob Cross is our second semi-finalists.
Predicted Winner: Rob Cross
Michael van Gerwen v Gerwyn Price
MVG has gone off the boil in the Premier League in recent weeks, losing three straight quarter-finals. However, he was far from disgraced last week, losing 6-2 to Luke Littler despite recording a 110.94 average. Gerwyn Price has actually lost his last four Premier League quarter-final matches and could struggle again this week. Michael van Gerwyn is excellent value to win the third quarter-final at the 3Arena.
Predicted Winner: Michael van Gerwen
Luke Littler v Michael Smith
Littler has lost four straight semi-finals, including a 6-3 loss to Michael Smith two weeks ago. However, his average of 114 against Michael van Gerwen last week is the highest in the competition so far and cannot be ignored. It seems just a matter of time before Luke Littler clinches his first win in the Premier League and he is taking on arguably one of the most inconsistent players across the first seven weeks of the competition.
Predicted Winner: Luke Littler
