In one of ten Premier League fixtures taking place this weekend, AFC Bournemouth host Everton at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Looking ahead to this key fixture we will provide in-depth match analysis, team news and betting tips as well as the very best pre-match odds and from bet offers from our partners at Betway.
Form
AFC Bournemouth sit comfortably in mid-table with 35 points from their 28 matches so far. The Cherries have taken seven points from the last nine available, including superb comebacks against both Sheffield United and Luton Town. Sheffield United were 2-0 up at the Vitality Stadium with barely 15 minutes to play but Bournemouth pegged them back to draw 2-2. Then just four days later, Bournemouth overturned a 3-0 half-time deficit to defeat Luton Town, 4-3.
Everton’s points deduction was reduced from ten to six points on appeal which has given The Toffees a little breathing space in the battle to avoid the drop. Everton are four points clear of the bottom three with 25 points from 28 matches. However, they are winless in eleven league games.
AFC Bournemouth v Everton: Head-to-Head
Everton were comfortable 3-0 winners in the reverse fixture back in October thanks to goals from James Garner, Jack Harrison and Abdoulaye Doucoure. However, their record on the south coast is poor. Everton are without a win at the Vitality Stadium in any of their past six visits.
AFC Bournemouth won 3-0 in the corresponding fixture last season whilst they also ran out 4-1 winners when hosting Everton in last year’s EFL Cup.
Betting Tips
Manchester City and Liverpool are the only teams to win away at AFC Bournemouth since October and their superb home record could prove the difference on Saturday. We’re giving Bournemouth the edge here (just) and feel they’re good value at 23/20 to take all three points.
There’s only one place to start when looking for a likely goalscorer on Saturday and that’s with Bournemouth forward, Dominic Solanke. Solanke scored Bouremouth’s first goal in their comeback win over Luton Town and now has 15 Premier League goals for the season. Solanke still maintains an outside chance of making Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2024 and he is our go-to guy for goals this Saturday. Here are the prices available on Solanke in various markets on Saturday.
Dominic Solanke to score | Odds |
---|---|
To score at any time | 19/20 |
First goalscorer | 16/5 |
Last goalscorer | 16/5 |
To score 2 or more | 5/1 |
Whilst Dominic Solanke is the obvious choice in the goalscorer markets, the better value is arguably his Bournemouth teammate, Antoine Semenyo. The 24-year old netted twice in the win against Luton Town, taking his tally up to seven Premier League goals for the season. With four goals in his last five league games, Semenyo is great value at 13/8 to score at any time.
It’s not hard to see why Everton have struggled this season given that The Toffees have the fourth best defensive record in the league after Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City yet they possess the second-worst attack after Sheffield United. Fixtures involving Everton have produced a league-low 68 goals, meaning you can make an easy case for backing under 2.5 match goals at 11/10.
Given that we’re tipping AFC Bournemouth to earn a narrow win against an Everton side far more capable of defending goals that scoring them, AFC Bournemouth to win to nil could be a wise choice at 16/5 whilst in the correct score market, 1-0 and 2-0 both have plenty of appeal at 8/1 and 10/1 respectively.
