Monbeg Genius, once a top contender for the Randox Grand National, has been withdrawn from the competition at the most recent entry confirmation phase. Trained by Jonjo O’Neill, this racehorse has faced disappointment in his last outings, including a withdrawal at Cheltenham's Ultima and a poor performance at Kelso, leading to his removal alongside 16 other entrants. Owned by Baroness Michelle Mone and Doug Barrowman, Monbeg Genius faced no impact from a recent legal order against some of the owners' assets and has continued to race under the Barrowman Racing Limited banner. Other notable withdrawals before him include the original heavyweight Hewick, as well as prominent names like Asterion Forlonge, Threeunderthrufive, and Letsbeclearaboutit, among others.
As of the latest update, Dan Skelton's Galia Des Liteaux holds the 34th spot, marking the final guaranteed entry. Currently, six horses in positions 33 to 38 are set to carry 10st 6lb, with elimination rankings and a possible random ballot to resolve any tiebreakers. The field will narrow further at the five-day confirmation checkpoint on April 8.
