Arsenal host Luton Town on Wednesday in one of the day’s three Premier League fixtures. Form

Arsenal remain in a three-way battle for the Premier League title and head into Wednesday’s matches second in the table with 65 points from 29 matches. Just three points separate leaders, Liverpool and Manchester City in third so we can expect plenty more twists and turns in the coming weeks.

The Gunners held Manchester City to a 0-0 draw at the Etihad Stadium last weekend whilst their most recent home league game saw them run out 2-1 winners against Brentford. Mikel Arteta’s side have won four straight league games at the Emirates and boast the league’s meanest defence, conceding just 24 goals so far.

Luton Town find themselves in the bottom three again despite points deductions for both Everton and Nottingham Forest. Rob Edwards’ side have 22 points from their 30 matches.

The Hatters lost 2-1 at Spurs on Saturday to extend their winless run to ten matches in all competitions. However, Luton Town have scored in 18 consecutive league games - the longest run in the Premier League.

Arsenal v Luton Town: Head-to-Head

Luton Town’s prolonged spell in the lower tiers of the football pyramid means that they have not played Arsenal away from home since August 1991. The only meeting between these two sides in the last 31 years came in the reverse fixture at Kenilworth Road back in December. Luton Town twice came from behind to take a 3-2 lead on 57 minutes but a Kai Havertz equaliser on the hour plus a dramatic 97th minute Declan Rice goal earned all three points for Arsenal.

Betting Tips

If Arsenal are to win their first Premier League title in 20 years then they have to be taking all three points from a home game against Luton Town. At 1/10 they may be a little short to back in the match betting market. However, there are a couple of ways of boosting those odds that should be given real consideration.

Arsenal to win and both teams to score (11/8): Luton Town’s record of scoring in 18 straight league games should not be ignored and whilst Arsenal boast the division's best defensive record they have failed to keep a clean sheet in their past three home league games.

Arsenal to win and over 2.5 match goals (3/10): Arsenal are the Premier League’s highest goalscorers with 70 goals scored in their 29 matches whilst only matches involving Spurs have produced more goals than the 105 goals scored in matches involving Luton Town.

Given that we are expecting a high number of goals at the Emirates on Wednesday, there are plenty of players that’ll attract support in the various goalscorer markets. Kai Havertz scored in the reverse fixture at Kenilworth Road and the German international has scored three goals in Arsenal’s last four league games. Havertz is 4/1 to score first or 5/6 to score at any time.

Tahith Chong has emerged as a real goal scoring threat for Luton Town in recent weeks and the former Manchester United midfielder is superb value to score again on Wednesday. Chong scored his third goal in five league games in the weekend defeat at Spurs and is a huge 13/2 to score at any time.
