Smith has been consistently inconsistent in recent weeks with a record of two quarter-final defeats and two final appearances in the last four weeks.

The bottom two meet in the final quarter-final of the evening in a match that should all but end the play-off hopes of the loser. If Price fails to land his checkouts consistently he could open the door for Wright, just as he did in Nottingham.
