Mike Tyson and Jake Paul have been briefed on the drug-testing procedures leading up to their eagerly awaited boxing match this summer.

Tyson, aged 58, is stepping out of retirement to go up against the young internet sensation, Paul, who is in his late 20s, in Texas on the 20th of July. Whether the event will be recognised as a professional bout is still up in the air.

Tyson has made it clear that, regardless of its exhibition status, it will adhere to the traditional rules of a "real" fight. Every day we are learning more about how this fight will shape up, including information such as rounds and glove weights. The World Boxing News received information from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation regarding the drug-testing regulations in place in Texas. The statement provided stated:

"Fighters competing in Texas are subject to random drug tests. Furthermore, fighters aged 36 and above must also clear an EKG and an EEG test."

Following this, they clarified the current ambiguity surrounding the fight's regulations by saying:

"As we have not yet received a proposed lineup from the promoter, the decision on whether the match between Mr. Paul and Mr. Tyson will be considered a professional fight or an exhibition has not been made."
