GREENLAND - 5/1

Brian Boru, Dylan Thomas, Capri, and Magical are among the seven horses from Ballydoyle who have clinched the Group 3 Tote.ie Alleged Stakes. GREENLAND, while perhaps not quite at their level, is a promising four-year-old making strides and could secure Aidan O'Brien his eighth victory in this race.

This son of Saxon Warrior has shown commendable form. In his season debut last year, he was a mere three lengths shy of Big Rock in a Group 3 at Longchamp, and towards the end of the season, he finished three lengths behind the Arc winner, Ace Impact, with the highly skilled Al Riffa taking second place and stablemate Victoria Road finishing seventh.

All of Greenland's races last season took place in France, making it particularly intriguing to see how he performs on his native turf. Despite us not yet seeing his full potential, his last six races have all earned RPRs in the triple digits, with the most recent being a score of 111 in a Group 2 at Longchamp in September, where he seemed out of his element in the final stretches.

His early start this season suggests he's had a smooth winter and spring, and I anticipate that Greenland will truly come into his own at the age of four.

COUMSHINGAUN - 16/1 (E/W)

Initially, Tough Talk seemed destined for greatness, especially after his debut victory over Little Big Bear, but the gelded son of Kingman has faced challenges since then. He starts this season with a rating of just 86, which is surprising given his early promise. Although he could stand out in the concluding 6f handicap at the Curragh, confidence in his ability to deliver is lacking, leading me to favor COUMSHINGAUN instead.

Coumshingaun has secured victories over this same course and distance in her last two outings and is only 2lb above her last winning mark from July, where she narrowly defeated Dandyville, who has since risen 10lb in the ratings. Her season debut at Cork over 7f was commendable, with a restrained finish that suggests she has more to offer. Given the favorable early pace and her position, Coumshingaun is well-poised to make significant progress and should be a strong contender in the final stages of the race. I'm leaning towards her chances, as the race setup seems ideal for her style.
