Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are set to meet for the 28th time as Real host Bayern in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday evening.

Real Madrid have found the net in 28 consecutive Champions League games at the Bernabeu. On the other hand, Bayern Munich have conceded multiple goals in eight of their last ten away matches across all competitions, with each of their previous seven away fixtures featuring at least four goals.

The first leg at the Allianz Arena ended in an exciting 2-2 draw.

Vinicius Junior opened and closed the scoring, while Bayern Munich had a strong start to the second half.

Leroy Sane’s powerful near-post shot leveled the score, followed by Harry Kane's composed penalty that gave Bayern a brief lead before Vinicius converted a penalty of his own.

Both managers rotated their squads over the weekend. Real Madrid secured a record-equaling La Liga title with a 3-0 home win against Cadiz, while Bayern Munich stumbled to a 1-3 defeat away to Stuttgart on Saturday.

Date, Kick-off Time, and Venue

Team News

Dani Carvajal is set to return from suspension following Lucas Vazquez’s challenging performance at right-back in the first leg. Carlo Ancelotti rotated his lineup in Saturday’s victory over Cadiz, resting key players like Jude Bellingham, Antonio Rudiger, Toni Kroos, Fede Valverde, and Vinicius Jr. Thibaut Courtois made his first start in months but will step aside as Real Madrid brings back Andriy Lunin. Concerns linger over Aurelien Tchouameni's fitness.

Bayern Munich have a new injury concern after Raphael Guerreiro left the Stuttgart match with an injury, as did Eric Dier. Jamal Musiala and Leroy Sane, along with four other players, were rested during that game. Thomas Tuchel is optimistic about Matthijs de Ligt's recovery for the second leg, but Dayot Upamecano remains uncertain, and Sacha Boey, Bouna Sarr, and Kingsley Coman are still out.

Real Madrid XI: Lunin; Carvajal, Rüdiger, Tchouaméni, Mendy; Valverde, Kroos, Camavinga, Bellingham; Vinícius, Rodrygo.

Bayern Munich XI: Neuer; Kimmich, De Ligt, Dier, Mazraoui; Goretzka, Laimer; Sané, Müller, Musiala; Kane.

Expert predictions

Graham Hunter, Real Madrid reporter:

"Spain's newly-crowned champions now have a huge Champions League test in which they can make this a truly extraordinary week. Dani Carvajal returns from suspension in what could be a key position given Bayern's impressive wing-play last week. Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois returned at the weekend having been out since August - is it too soon for him? Possibly, but the rest of Ancelotti’s XI will feel the time is just right. There'll be a phenomenal atmosphere and unmissable elite football. Don't miss this under any circumstances."

James Thorogood, Bayern reporter:

:After shaping up for a first trophyless season since 2012, it would be "Typisch Bayern" (typical Bayern) to fashion a chance at Europe's biggest prize. 90 minutes - or maybe more - away from that opportunity, all the talk in Munich is of a "classic 50-50". It's the first-leg performance, though, and not Saturday's 3-1 loss to Stuttgart in the Bundesliga, that provides the source of confidence as the German record titleholders travel to the Spanish capital.:
