Alexander Zverev and Carlos Alcaraz will contest Sunday’s men’s singles final at Roland Garros with both players eyeing their first ever French Open title. Ahead of the conclusion of the second Grand Slam tournament of the year you can find the latest match news, insights and expert betting tips as well as the best French Open tennis odds from our partners at bet365.

Road To The Final

Carlos Alcaraz reached his first ever French Open final by winning a gruelling five-set semi-final against new world number one Jannik Sinner. The 21-year-old twice came from a set down to defeat Sinner (2-6 6-3 3-6 6-4 6-3). Alcaraz came into the French Open with fitness concerns around a troublesome right forearm and has worn heavy strapping throughout his fortnight in Paris. However the two-time Grand Slam champion has impressed, dropping just one set in five matches prior to his semi-final win. A straight sets quarter-final win over 2021 finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas looked particularly impressive.

Alexander Zverev defeated 14-time winner Rafael Nadal in round one before going the full five sets in both his third and fourth round matches. Off-field issues have dominated the past couple of weeks for the German with allegations of domestic abuse finally concluding with a settlement out of court on Friday. Like Alcaraz, Zverev lost the first set of his semi-final match but with opponent Casper Ruud suffering from an illness, the German kicked on to win in four sets (2-6 6-2 6-4 6-2).

Zverev v Alcaraz: Head-to-Head

There’s very little to separate Sunday's finalists in head-to-head matches with Zverev just edging it 5-4 from their nine previous meetings. However it was Alcaraz that was successful in their most recent matchup, winning in straight sets en route to Indian Wells Masters success in March.

Alcaraz leads 2-1 in meetings on clay thanks to back-to-back Madrid Open wins in 2022 and 2023 however their only previous meeting at Roland Garros saw Alexander Zverev victorious in their 2022 French Open quarter-final.

Betting Tips

Alexander Zverev has lost the first set in three of his last four French Open matches and we’re anticipating a similar outcome on Sunday. Carlos Alcaraz is priced at 1/2 to win the first set. We actually believe that the Spaniard will go on and win a first ever French Open title and looks good value for the win at 4/11. In the match’s set betting, 3-1 to Carlos Alcaraz looks the most appealing and is currently priced at 13/5.
