Euro 2024: Golden Boot Odds
Euro 2024: Golden Boot Odds

We’re now just a matter of days from the start of Euro 2024 and bettors will be scrambling to get the final pre-tournament outright bets in place. The Golden Boot market remains one of the most popular amongst bettors and here at betting.bet we’ll focus in on this market, assessing the hopes of the market leaders whilst also hand-picking a couple of real dark horses in the field. Euro 2024 Golden Boot betting odds are provided by our betting partners at Betfair.

Kylian Mbappe

France

Odds: 9/2

Kylian Mbappe finished the 2022 FIFA World Cup with eight goals before netting a further nine goals in France’s qualification campaign for Euro 2024. The 25-year-old will join Spanish giants Real Madrid immediately after the tournament and he is bidding to become the first European to finish as top goalscorer in back-to-back major international tournaments since Gerd Muller in 1970 and 1972.

France have been drawn in a tricky looking Group D alongside Austria, Netherlands and Poland so group stage goals may be hard to come by for Mbappe. However, France are tipped to go deep into the tournament and the form of their captain and talisman will be key.

Harry Kane

England

Odds: 5/1

Next in the betting is England’s Harry Kane and just like Golden Boot favourite, Mbappe, Kane is another former World Cup Golden Boot winner that will lead the line for one of the tournament favourites. Kane has enjoyed a stellar season for both club and country and will inevitably attract plenty of interest in this market. In his debut season at Bayern Munich, Harry Kane scored 44 goals in all competitions, including 36 goals in just 32 Bundesliga matches. England’s all-time record goalscorer also netted eight goals in qualifying to move on to 63 goals in 91 internationals. The Three Lions have been drawn in Group C alongside Serbia, Denmark and Slovenia.

Cristiano Ronaldo

Portugal

Odds: 12/1

Football’s greatest ever goalscorer could be set to play in his last ever major international tournament this summer and the five-time Ballon d’Or winner will be determined to go out on a high. Ronaldo heads to Germany having broken the record for goals scored in a Saudi Pro League season with 35 goals in 31 matches. The 39-year-old also scored ten goals in nine internationals in 2023 to take his Portuguese record up to 128 goals in 206 internationals.

Ronaldo was the Golden Boot winner in Euro 2020 and based on world rankings, Portugal have been drawn in the easiest of the six Euro 2024 groups. Group F matches against Czech Republic, Turkey and Georgia will offer Ronaldo plenty of goal-scoring opportunities.

Romelu Lukaku

Belgium

Odds: 14/1

Romelu Lukaku scored a record-breaking 14 goals in qualification to take his international record up to an impressive 85 goals in 115 internationals for Belgium. The 31-year-old has certainly saved his best form for the international stage in recent years and he netted just 13 times in 32 Serie A matches this season. Belgium have been drawn in one of the easier looking groups as they line up in Group E alongside Slovakia, Romania and Ukraine however they’re not expected to progress too far into the tournament.

Dark Horses

Whilst the leading quartet are well clear in the Golden Boot betting market there is plenty of value to be found elsewhere; especially as Betfair are paying out each-way on the first five places. Below are just a few outsiders to consider backing in the Euro 2024 Golden Boot market.

Niclas Fullkrug

Germany

Odds: 25/1

In 2022 Germany were eliminated at the group stage of the FIFA World Cup for the second successive tournament whilst they only made it as far as the first knockout stage at Euro 2020. However, with home advantage they are amongst the favourites to win Euro 2024. Borussia Dortmund forward Niclas Fullkrug has emerged as one of Germany’s key players and heads into this summer’s tournament with eleven goals in sixteen internationals.

Fullkrug has netted 12 goals in 25 Bundesliga matches since signing for the UEFA Champions League finalists and with Germany expected to coast through Group A ahead of Scotland, Hungary and Switzerland, he could prove a shrewd Golden Boot selection at 25/1.

Bruno Fernandes

Portugal

Odds: 40/1

Cristiano Ronaldo will lead the line for Portugal but they are far from a one-man team. Bruno Fernandes has a decent return of 22 goals in 66 internationals despite scoring just twice in his first 25 senior caps for Portugal. Fernandes has three goals in three matches for Portugal in 2024 and scored six goals in qualifying. Bruno Fernandes also reached double-figures in Manchester United’s disastrous 2023/24 Premier League campaign.
