The third Grand Slam event on the tennis calendar gets underway next week as the All England Club hosts Wimbledon. The men’s singles tournament attracts a huge amount of interest and this year’s competition promises to be a wide-open contest. Here at betting.bet we’ll cast our eye over all the major players, providing draw information and betting tips as well as the latest outright odds courtesy of BoyleSports.
Last Man Standing
Between 2003 and 2022 the 19 Wimbledon Championships staged produced just four different winners as the ‘Big Four’ of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray dominated the sport for two decades. However, Federer has since retired and both Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray have been dogged by injuries in recent years. Novak Djokovic is the last man standing amongst the quartet but he has not won an ATP Tour event since winning the ATP Finals in Turin last November.
The Serb was runner up at Wimbledon last year and also won the other three Grand Slam tournaments contested in 2023. However, Djokovic lost in the semi-final of this year’s Australian Open before withdrawing from the French Open through injury at the quarter-final stage. Despite his early withdrawal at Roland Garros Djokovic is again amongst the bookies’ favourites to win at SW19.
A New Era
Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are leading the next generation of tennis stars in the men’s game and both have an excellent chance of success at Wimbledon this year. 21-year-old Carlos Alcaraz became the youngest man to win a Grand Slam title on all three surfaces by achieving clay court success at this year’s French Open. Alcaraz won the US Open on Flushing Meadows’ hard court in 2022 before winning last year’s Wimbledon men’s singles title.
Jannik Sinner is the new world number one despite losing to Carlos Alcaraz in the French Open semi-final. Sinner won his first Grand Slam earlier this year by defeating top ten players Andrey Rublev, Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev en route to Australian Open glory. Sinner has also won several notable events on the ATP Tour this year including the Halle Open, Miami Open and Rotterdam Open.
Sinner and Alcaraz are seeded one and three respectively and therefore cannot meet until the final of the men’s singles championship. Below is a full list of the men’s 32 seeded players for this year’s Wimbledon Championship.

Queen’s Club And A New Home Favourite
The Queen’s Club Championship often serves as a great warm up match ahead of Wimbledon with 2023 winner Carlos Alcarez becoming the latest player to complete the Queen’s / Wimbledon double. This year’s tournament at Queen’s was won by Tommy Paul and the American will hope to improve on last year’s third round exit at Wimbledon.
Whilst Tommy Paul was the tournament winner at Queen’s Club it was his quarter-final opponent Jack Draper that gained the most attention. Draper followed up his grass court success in the Stuttgart Open by defeating reigning champion and number one seed Carlos Alcaraz at Queen’s. Draper has now moved into the world’s top thirty as is the new British number one.
