Treble Maker - July 5th

We’ve cast our eye over all of the day’s 50 races, narrowing our daily betting tips down to three selections for Friday’s Treble Maker

A big weekend of horse racing action kicks off with no fewer than seven meetings across the UK and Ireland on Friday. There are a couple of jumps meetings at Cork and Newton Abbot whilst the flat racing gets underway at Sandown at 1:55 with further meetings scheduled for Doncaster, Bellewstown, Beverley and Haydock. Here at betting.bet we’ve cast our eye over all of the day’s 50 races, narrowing our daily betting tips down to three selections for Friday’s Treble Maker. Friday's odds are provided by our betting partners at NAGS Bet.

3:15 - Doncaster

CHATURANGA - 10/3

Cambria Legend is a well-backed favourite at Doncaster on Friday but we’re happy to take him on in this. Comfortable winner at Haydock two runs ago but was subsequently hit with a 9lbs hike in the weights before finishing second last time out at Lingfield. Nudged up another 1lb and Chaturanga could capitalise.

Chaturanga has contested much stronger races than this and has been better than ever in his last two races. Won on the AW at Newcastle two runs back and was unlucky not to follow up when beaten by a neck by a progressive sort over 1m2f at Newmarket two weeks ago. Remains on a workable mark and could upset the favourite here.

3:40 - Sandown

ANNO DOMINI - 6/5

525,000gns breeze-up purchase Anno Domini was handed a 5lbs penalty following an impressive win on debut at Newbury last month. However, this Godolphin juvenile is an excellent prospect for trainer Charlie Appleby and should make it two from two.

The main challengers are likely to be Aegean Sea and Windlord. Aegean Sea was third over C&D on debut and should pick up here whilst Windlord was ¾ lengths back in fourth and could reverse that form.

6:00 - Beverley

KHABIB - 4/1

Khabib was a close second at Thirsk two weeks ago and heads to Beverley with an excellent chance off the same mark on Friday. Losing streak stretches back eight races but this former C&D winner could be ready to return to the winners enclosure. The booking of in-form jockey Jason Hart is a big positive.

Digital is our second-choice on the back of a solid run when runner-up to an in-form sort at Hamilton two weeks ago. Not disgraced when fourth over C&D in May and improved further in two of three runs in June - excused poor run at York when badly hampered two runs back.

Treble Maker Odds - 40/1

  • Chaturanga (10/3)
  • Anno Domini (6/5)
  • Khabib (4/1)
