Treble Maker - July 8th

Monday’s treble includes races at Ayr, Worcester and Wolverhampton

We kickstart the week with five race meetings across the UK and Ireland on Monday. The first race of the day is at 2pm as part of a seven-races jumps card at Worcester with further jump races booked at Roscommon in the evening. There are three flat meetings taking place including an all-weather card at Wolverhampton as well as turf meetings at Ayr and Ripon.

In total there are 34 races scheduled across Monday and here at betting.bet our tipsters have narrowed these down to three intriguing selections. Monday’s treble includes races at Ayr, Worcester and Wolverhampton with horse racing odds from our betting partners at AK Bets.

HIGHWAYGREY - 5/1

Berry Edge had both Highwaygrey and We Still Believe behind him over 1m1f two runs ago at Carlisle but he has since been nudged up 3lbs so both losers that day come into the reckoning on Monday. Highwaygrey remains on a decent mark and jockey Amir Waugh offers a 5lbs claim. Previous C&D winner that has won a Class 3 race before now. Has to be respected back down in Class 6 company.

We Still Believe has been nudged down 1lb despite placing in four successive races. Has had runs over 7f right through to 2m this season without winning, previous form suggest he may not see out the trip on Monday.

3:45 - Worcester

UGGY UGGY UGGY - 11/4

Uggy Uggy Uggy finished fifth over 2m1f at Newton Abbot last time out despite going off a well-supported favourite. However trainer Keiran Burke suggested that he’d found it “too sharp” at Newton Abbot and he’ll certainly appreciate the step back up in trip on Monday. Won over 2m5f at Warwick two runs ago and although 6lbs higher than that now, jockey Bradley Harris will take 3lbs off. Yard in excellent form with figures of 1212 so far this month.

Bethpage takes a major step forward in class for this having earned a hat-trick of handicap wins in Class 5 company. Lightly-raced for a six-year-old and certainly warrants respect but heads to Worcester on a career-high mark. 1lb out of the handicap but 3lbs claim for jockey Joe Anderson. Will certainly hope to see the ground dry out this afternoon.

5:55 - Wolverhampton (AW)

SEA THE BUCKTHORN - 9/2

Blue Collar Lad heads back to Wolverhampton in decent form and is likely to go off as favourite on Monday. Something of a course specialist with five out of his eight runs for new trainer Alice Haynes coming on Wolverhampton’s all-weather course. Still slightly higher than his last winning mark but commands respect. Highfield Heiress has every chance on his handicap debut for respected trainers John and Sean Quinn. The booking of jockey Oisin Murphy is a real eye-catcher.

However, preference is for Sea The Buckthorn back at Wolverhampton a week on from a solid fourth here over C&D. Ran on well to finish just 1¼ lengths off the race winner last time out and returns on the same mark. 5lbs lower than the leading pair in the market and jockey Tyler Heard claims a further 3lbs. Won over C&D off the same mark in January and has a big chance on Monday.

Treble Maker Odds - 122.75/1

  • Highwaygrey (5/1)
  • Uggy Uggy Uggy (11/4)
  • Sea The Buckthorn (9/2)
