Wimbledon: Men’s Singles Quarter-Finals - Fixtures & Betting Tips
As we look ahead to the four quarter-final ties, you can find the latest fixtures and outright odds
The Wimbledon men’s singles tournament remains finely-poised with most of the competition's big guns progressing to the latter stages. Four of the top five seeds have made it through to the last eight and no player outside of the world’s top thirty remains in the competition. As we look ahead to the four quarter-final ties, you can find the latest fixtures and outright odds courtesy of our partners at Coral.
Jannik Sinner v Daniil Medvedev
World number one Jannik Sinner is eyeing a second Grand Slam in 2024 after winning the Australian Open earlier this year. Sinner hasn't quite been at his best at SW19 this year as he needed four sets to get past both Yannick Hanfmann and Matteo Berrettini in rounds one and two respectively. Sinner has won in straight sets against both Miomir Kecmanovic and Ben Shelton
Daniil Medvedev lost to Jannik Sinner in the final of the Australian Open but the fifth seed is certainly better suited to hard courts than grass. Medvedev won in rounds one to three against Aleksandar Kovacevic, Alexandre Muller and Jan-Lennard Struff before earning a walkover win early into his fourth round match against tenth seed Grigor Dimitrov. The Bulgarian suffered a knee injury when slipping early in the first set of their fourth round tie and Medvedev was handed the match at just 5-3 in the first set.

Carlos Alcaraz v Tommy Paul
Carlos Alcaraz bounced back from his shock defeat to Jack Draper at Queen’s by edging into round four after some hugely entertaining matches throughout week one. Alcaraz was taken to a tie-break in the very first set of his round one match against Mark Lajal and before emerging as the match winner in straight sets in rounds one and two. Alcaraz survived an almighty scare in round three as he came from two sets to one down to beat Frances Tiafoe in a five-set thriller in round three. Alcaraz defeated Ugo Humbert in round four but will need to improve in the second week if he is to retain the Wimbledon title he won twelve months ago.
Tommy Paul cannot be underestimated on Tuesday as he looks to follow up his win at Queen’s with a second grass court title in as many months. Paul has reached the quarter-finals at Wimbledon for the first time but has looked solid in the first four rounds. Was fortunate to avoid a fourth round meeting with former world number two Casper Ruud as the three-time Grand Slam finalist suffered a shock second round defeat to 37-year-old Fabio Fognini. Tommy Paul’s only previous match against Carlos Alcaraz came in the quarter-final of last year’s Canadian Open and it was the American that emerged victorious.

Alex de Minaur v Novak Djokovic
Novak Djokovic lost in the final twelve months ago, halting a run of four straight Wimbledon titles but remains on course for a record-equalling eighth Wimbledon title after sweeping Holger Rune aside in straight sets in round four. Djokivic seemed to struggle with an abdominal injury throughout his fourth round match and retained heavy strapping around his right knee; however his biggest issue seemed to be his ongoing battle with the crowd on Centre Court. Djokvic accused the Wimbledon crowd of disrespecting him amidst their ferocious support of Monday’s opponent Casper Ruud.
On Wednesday, Djokovic will take on Alex de Minaur in the quarter-final after the ninth seed earned a four-set win over Arthur Fils. Having reached the last eight at the French Open, Alex de Minaur has now reached back-to-back Grand Slam quarter-finals for the first time in his career. The Australian was seen as a dark horse at Wimbledon last year having reached the final at Queen’s but suffered a shock second round defeat against unseeded Matteo Berrettini.

Lorenzo Musetti v Taylor Fritz
Taylor Fritz produced the performance of the tournament so far in round four as he came from two sets down to defeat world number four and French Open finalist Alexander Zverev (4-6 6-7 6-4 7-6 6-3) in five sets. Fritz has looked solid at SW19 this month but he’s never been beyond the quarter-final of any previous Grand Slam he’s been involved in.
Lorenzo Musetti is the lowest ranked player left in the competition and he has enjoyed his fair share of good fortune en route to a first ever Grand Slam quarter-final. Shock early exits for sixth seed Andrey Rublev and eleventh seed Stefanos Tsitsipas has seen Musetti cruise through to the last eight without playing a single match against any player inside the world’s top 30. Musetti warmed up for Wimbledon by reaching the final at Queen’s but it would be a phenomenal achievement if he was to defeat Taylor Fritz on Wednesday.
