Treble Maker - July 25th

We have narrowed the day’s 48 races down to three very interesting selections as part of today’s Treble Maker feature

There are seven race meetings across the UK and Ireland on Thursday including the return of the Racing League at Yarmouth. Elsewhere there are a couple of jumps meetings at Worcester and Wexford as well as flat racing at Doncaster, Sandown, Leopardstown, Newbury and of course Yarmouth. We have narrowed the day’s 48 races down to three very interesting selections as part of today’s Treble Maker feature. Our daily horse racing tips include odds from our betting partners at Unibet.

4:20 - Sandown

Aspen Insurance Handicap

QUIETNESS - 7/4

Siempre Arturo has won three races on the bounce and heads to Sandown eyeing a four-timer on Thursday. A hat-trick of wins for the Daniel and Claire Kubler-trained four-year-old sees him run under a 5lbs penalty on Thursday but he looked to have plenty more in the tank last time out. All three recent wins have come over Thursday’s trip but a below-par run on good to firm in May means he will not want the ground to dry out any more over Thursday afternoon.

The biggest danger will come from Quietness for trainer Marcus Tregoning. The lightly-raced four-year-old also heads to Sandown on the back of a hat-trick of wins and is hiked 5lbs following his latest win at Haydock. Should be plenty more to come from Quietness and with a big advantage over Siempre Arturo, this is where we’re leaning for this.

5:20 - Doncaster

Cambion Electronics Handicap

EM JAY KAY - 8/1

The final race on Doncaster’s card looks wide-open but we’re opting for a horse that has been in solid form since switching to turf. Em Jay Kay won last time out at Nottingham last Friday and despite a 5lbs rise he should be there or thereabouts one more. Jockey Tyler Heard takes 3lbs off and we’re confident of another big run from a horse boasting figures of 29331 on the turf this year.

The current market leader is Fletcher’s Flight who runs under a 5lbs penalty following an impressive win at Yarmouth last week. Kodi Red was well-beaten when he came up against Em Jay Kay at Nottingham last time out but he seems far more at home at Doncaster and is the only C&D winner in the race. Would do well to overturn a 14-length defeat to Em Jay Kay but cannot be ruled out. Wreck It Ryley was a beaten favourite last time out but remains in good form this year. Drops back to 6f and is 1lb lower than his last three runs, a major player on Thursday.

7:15 - Newbury

Take A Lucky Dip At BetVictor Handicap

SMOULDERING - 9/2

Smouldering was a beaten favourite on his handicap debut last time out but showed enough promise at Haydock to suggest that he could bounce back at Newbury on Thursday. Has already won on the AW and the Clive Cox-trained three-year-old may be open to significant improvement here.

Market leader King Cabo returns to 6f after a poor run over 7f at Ascot last time out. Now on his lowest mark for some time and has to be respected. Flying Secret is the only C&D winner in the race but has yet to get going this year. New headgear tried on Thursday and it would be no surprise to see him bounce back off a very workable mark.

Treble Maker Odds - 135/1

  • Quietness (7/4)
  • Em Jay Kay (8/1)
  • Smouldering (9/2)
