Racing League 2024: Week Two Tips & Odds

Here at betting.bet we’ve hand-picked some intriguing selections, including odds

The Racing League resumes on Thursday evening with week two of the team event set to take place on Wolverhampton’s all-weather track. The first of the evening’s seven races is scheduled to take place at 5:45 and here at betting.bet we’ve hand-picked some intriguing selections, including odds courtesy of our betting partners at NAGS Bet.

5:45

Tote.co.uk Chris 'Got A Text' Hughes Racing League R8 Handicap (Trainers Reg' To Racing League)

SHALAA ASKER - 15/2

Ireland have an excellent chance of kicking off the evening with a win with the Pat Murphy-trained three-year-old Mint Man. Solid AW form before an eye-catching second at Naas last week. Runs off the same mark this evening and has to be respected.

However, The North have a couple of big-priced entries that could upset the odds. Havana Rum has previously looked capable on the AW and has earned two wins over 6f on the turf this year. Heads to Wolverhampton 4lbs higher than when winning at Pontefract last time out. Brian The Snail has been in solid form recently off a much lower mark and retains place claims.

We are expecting Yorkshire to take the opener with Shalaa Asker. The six-year-old got going well too late to challenge in the 5f contest at Chelmsford last time out but there was plenty to suggest he’d benefit from Thursday’s longer trip.

6:15

Tote.co.uk Kevin Blake 'Ah Sure Look' Racing League R9 Handicap (Trainers Reg' To Racing League)

BLUE DAY - 5/1

The Harry Charlton-trained Blue Day was behind City House at Kempton last time out but has been gelded since and could reverse those placings on Thursday. Running for Wales and the West in the Racing League and remains unexposed off the same mark - a major player.

Pen Portrait defeated City House over C&D as a two-year-old but didn’t show too much promise in his seasonal return at Newmarket in April. Could appreciate the return to the AW and not ruled out.

7:15

Tote.co.uk No Yeeehaaa For Matt Chapman Racing League R11 Handicap (Trainers Reg' To Racing League)

LOUGH LEANE - 5/1

Lough Leane looks another solid prospect for Wales and the West and will relish the return to the AW after some solid runs on turf. Kicked off 2024 with five straight AW wins including two over C&D. Second behind a good rival in the Racing League at Yarmouth last weekend and could go one better this week.

Teammate Noodle Mission is the current market leader and he boasts three wins at Wolverhampton already. Form figures of 31211 since switching to trainer Edward Smyth-Osbourne including a solid win over Thursday’s 1m trip at Chelmsford last time out.

7:45

Tote.co.uk Linda Perratt Gie It Laldy Racing League R12 Handicap (Trainers Reg' To Racing League)

ANDALEEP - 11/2

Another horse unlucky not to get off the mark in the Racing League last week was Andaleep for the London and the South team and the eight-year-old could bounce back at Wolverhampton this week. This year’s AW form reads 715133 and he’s due to go up 3lbs after Thursday’s run.

Mighty Nebula is the current market leader for The East and remains a progressive type whilst Break The Bank commands respect having won at Kempton in March on his only previous AW outing.

8:45

Tote.co.uk Leonna Mayor Ey Up Chuck Racing League R14 Handicap (Trainers Reg' To Racing League)

ABERAMA GOLD - 7/1

Aberama Gold has been handed a less than ideal draw in stall 12 but he retains an excellent chance of taking this for team Ireland. Won the Stewards’ Cup at Goodwood this time last year and was a C&D on his last outing at Wolverhampton. Remains 5lbs lower than Stewards’ Cup-winning mark and one for the shortlist.

Fellow Irish entry Daamberdiplomat looked good on four AW runs over the spring and was a close fifth when returning from a break at Fairyhouse last month. If we get a strong pace on Thursday he could be right in the mix.
