Championship Treble Odds - 8.33/1
- Leeds United to win (1/3)
- Swansea City to win (3/1)
- Sheffield Wednesday to win (3/4)
Leeds United v Portsmouth
(Saturday 10th August - 12:30)
LEEDS UNITED to win - 1/3
Last season Leeds United became the first club to ever finish on 90 points in the second tier and fail to earn promotion to the top-flight. Daniel Farke’s side head into the new season amongst the bookies’ outright favourites but they’ll have to do without several of last season’s stars with the likes of Archie Gray, Crysencio Summerville and Luis Sinisterra all departing for big money during he summer.
Despite a series of summer departures, Leeds United still boast one of the division’s strongest squads and will prove especially difficult to beat at Elland Road. During the 2023/24 season, Leeds United totted up an impressive 53 points in 23 home league games. On Saturday they welcome newly-promoted Portsmouth to West Yorkshire and a home win looks a sensible bet.
Middlesbrough v Swansea City
(Saturday 10th August - 12:30)
SWANSEA CITY to win - 3/1
Middlesbrough were one of the few sides to earn more points away from home than at home last season having lost nine of their 23 league games at the Riverside throughout the 2023/24 season. Swansea City finished the season in solid form and could be one of the division’s dark-horses in Luke Williams’ first full season in charge. The visitors could spring a shock on Teeside on Saturday and we’re backing them to take all three points back to South Wales on Saturday.
Sheffield Wednesday v Plymouth Argyle
(Sunday 11th August - 16:00)
SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY to win - 3/4
Plymouth Argyle narrowly avoided the drop last season due to their solid home form with 35 of their 51 points coming at Home Park. The Pilgrims will have to improve on their return of three wins in 23 away league games if they’re to once again remain in the Championship. However Wayne Rooney’s first league game in charge is against a Sheffield Wednesday side that finished last season as one of the division’s most in-form sides. The Owls have made some smart summer acquisitions with the likes of Jamal Lowe and Nathanial Chalobah heading to Hillsborough and we’re backing them to get their season underway with all three points on Sunday.
