The start of the 2024/25 Premier League season is just around the corner and as we look forward to the hotly-anticipated start of the new campaign, football fans, pundits and personalities everywhere are making their predictions ahead of the new season. Popular YouTuber and die-hard Manchester United fan Mark Goldbridge has waded in with his own opinions on the new season on his That’s Football YouTube channel with his annual ‘Premier League Predictions’ video. Here at betting.bet we’ll dissect and assess the opinions of Mr Goldbridge, offering the latest outright Premier League odds from our partners at Ladbrokes. Ladbrokes are also one of the top bookies from Premier League free bets this season!

A Three-Horse Title Race

Whilst admitting he’d “bloody love it if someone else wins it”, Manchester United fan Mark Goldbridge has tipped Manchester City to win a fifth straight Premier League title. He commented that they have the ‘best squad” and the “best manager” whilst claiming only “a fool” would bet against City winning the Premier League title again this season. If you agree with Mark Goldbridge’s title prediction, Manchester City can be backed at 6/4 with Ladbrokes to win the Premier League title.

In a rather predictable move, Goldbridge has tipped Arsenal and Liverpool to complete the top three whilst suggesting Arsenal’s attempts to wrestle the Premier League title from Manchester City will see them finish trophyless again this season. Ladbrokes are offering odds of 4/5 on Arsenal not to win a single trophy in 2024/25. Despite finishing nine points adrift of Manchester City last season, Goldbridge is expecting Liverpool to make this season’s title race a three-horse race.

United In For Fourth - Manchester or Newcastle?

As an avid Manchester United fan, Mark Goldbridge almost seems desperate to see this side clinch a top-four finish in a real clamour to see Champions League football return to Old Trafford next season. Whilst he has tipped the Red Devils to do just that, he feels their biggest challengers will be Newcastle United. Goldbridge claims that Newcastle United are being “slept on” when it comes to discussing the battle for a top-four finish. He has predicted that Eddie Howe will ‘get them going’ and suggested they have a squad full of “fantastic” players, including Anthony Gordon, Bruno Guimaraes, Alexander Isak and the soon-to-be-returning Sandro Tonali. Manchester United are currently priced at 2/1 to finish in the top four, whilst Newcastle United are 15/8 in the same market.

Unpredictable Chelsea

Rounding off Mark Goldbridge’s top six are big-spending Chelsea however he has suggested that they could just as easily finish 16th in what could prove another turbulent season at Stamford Bridge. New manager Enzo Maresca was mooted as a potential candidate to be the first manager to leave his post in this season’s Premier League. The former Leicester City boss is priced at 11/2 in this particular market. Spurs are expected to finish seventh with the rigours of a Champions League predicted to see Aston Villa drop from fourth last season to eighth in the coming season.

Below is the Premier League’s top eight, as predicted by Mark Goldbridge:

  1. Manchester City
  2. Arsenal
  3. Liverpool
  4. Manchester United
  5. Newcastle United
  6. Chelsea
  7. Tottenham Hotspur
  8. Aston Villa

Four Teams To Be Relegated...!

When predicting the relegation places, Mark Goldbridge confidently suggested that all three promoted clubs will make an immediate return to the Sky Bet Championship for a second successive season. Leicester City (4/9), Ipswich Town (10/11) and Southampton (Evens) are unsurprisingly the bookies’ three favourites to be relegated whilst Ladbrokes are offering combined odds of 6/1 for all three to drop out of the Premier League. The belief is that the gap between the Championship and Premier League is now so significant that the three promoted teams won’t reach the projected safety mark of 35 points, claiming the likes of Nottingham Forest, Fulham, Crystal Palace and Everton “know how to get to 35 points”.

Perhaps more in hope or gest, Manchester United fan Goldbridge has suggested that Manchester City could be the fourth side to be relegated from the Premier League despite tipping them for another title. The investigation surrounding Manchester City’s 115 charges for financial irregularities should be concluded this season and Goldbridge has remarked that they’ll be “booted out” of the league. Whether you agree with that sentiment or not, it is rather intriguing to see Manchester City as short as 10/1 to be relegated, shorter than the likes of Brighton & Hove Albion and West Ham United in the betting and some way shorter than the 500/1 available on Arsenal or Liverpool to suffer the same fate.

Individual Accolades

Goldbridge has tipped Erling Haaland to win a third successive Premier League Golden Boot this season and the Manchester City forward is the bookies’ red-hot favourite at 8/13 in this particular market. Haaland’s teammate Kevin de Bruyne has been tipped as a potential Player of the Year candidate but Mark Goldbridge has tipped Mohamed Salah to win this particular award. He has suggested that the tactics of new Liverpool manager Arne Slot will suit the Liverpool wide players, particularly Salah. In what could be his final season at Anfield, Salah is priced at 16/1 to pick up the Player of the Year award.

Sack Race

We’re in a strange position where several Premier League managers are heading into the new season with immense pressure on them already. Enzo Maresca will have plenty of backers in this particular market but Mark Goldbridge has tipped Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo to be the first to depart. The Forest boss is currently priced at 9/1 in this market, behind the current favourite Enzo Maresca, Eddie Howe (7/1) and Erik ten Hag (8/1).

Domestic Cup Winners

Chelsea have been touted as potential Carabao Cup winners. A huge squad coupled with the fact that the Blues tend to take the competition far more seriously than most of the country’s other big clubs make them a sensible prediction. Chelsea are currently available at 10/1 to win the Carabao Cup. Eight-time winners Manchester City are the current market leaders at 11/4. Pep Guardiola’s side have also been picked as possible FA Cup winners, twelve months on from their final heartache against neighbours Manchester United. At 3/1 Manchester City are good value to win the FA Cup whilst a Premier League / FA Cup double looks fascinating at 7/1.

England Domination In Europe

English clubs have been tipped to dominate in Europe this season with suggestions that Real Madrid are the only non-English team capable of winning the UEFA Champions League. However, Mark Goldbridge’s tip to win the Champions League is Liverpool. Rafa Benitez won the trophy in his first season as Liverpool boss and if you think Arne Slot can emulate Benitez then Liverpool are available at 16/1 to win a seventh European Cup.

Manchester United are many people’s favourites to win the UEFA Europa League and Goldbridge believes this would be a greater accolade than his side’s FA Cup win last season. Winning the Europa League offers an excellent gateway into next season’s Champions League and Manchester United will prove popular in the Europa League betting market.
