As well as exclusive betting tips and race insights below you can find the latest race odds
The 2024 edition of the Racing League reaches its penultimate week this week with a seven-card meeting scheduled to take place on Newcastle’s all-weather track on Thursday evening. Three wins at Windsor last week saw Wales and the West move to the top of the leaderboard but very little separates them from both London and the South and The East.
As the end of the competitions draws closer, all seven races on Thursday are of huge importance and here at betting.bet we've picked out some leading players. As well as exclusive betting tips and race insights below you can find the latest race odds from our partners at Coral.

HUMBLE SPARK - 10/1
Fox Legacy is the red-hot favourite for the second race of the evening. The Sir Michael Stoute-trained three-year-old is 10lbs well in after last week’s impressive win at Salisbury. However that win was on the turf and the return to the AW is a concern. Whilst he is a major player on Thursday, 6/5 is too short for a horse yet to really convince on the AW.
Our preference is for 10/1 chance Humble Spark for Scotland. Won a handicap on the turf at Hamilton last time out and has already won twice over C&D this year. All runs this year have come in Class 6 company so this obviously represents a step up in class but he is a major player for the in-form Goldie yard.

CASTAN - 11/1
Castan is another that could run well for team Scotland at Newcastle on Thursday. Not enjoyed the best of summers on the turf but he generally fares far better on the AW. Two wins over C&D and remains 4lbs lower than when winning here in March. Jockey Paul Mulrennan saddled Castan to C&D success last October and the in-form jockey is back on board on Thursday.
Accrual is the current market leader for trainer Daniel and Claire Kubler and the London and the South team. The unexposed three-year-old won over 5f on the AW at Wolverhampton in July and has looked solid in two second place finishes on the turf since. Certainly one for the shortlist.

LOUGH LEANE - 9/1
Thursday could be tough for league leaders Wales and the West with so few of their representatives predicted to have a decent run at Newcastle. One of their leading chances is Lough Leane in this 1m contest. The David Simcock-trained four-year-old was excellent on the AW over the spring winning five on the spin, including over C&D back in March. Has run well without winning in five subsequent races, placing in the last four and could be ready to return to winning ways here.
Storm Star is the one to beat for London and the South on his first run over 1m. Won over 6f at Newcastle (AW) on debut and lost by just a neck last time out on his handicap debut on week one of the Racing League at Yarmouth.
