Road To Wembley
Both Daniel Dubois and Anthony Joshua are said to be in the best form of their careers having bounced back from a couple of damaging defeats. Dubois was accused of quitting when he lost to Joe Joyce in November 2020 but a run of four stoppage wins handed him a shot at unified world champion Oleksandr Usyk last August. Usyk would emerge victorious via a ninth-round stoppage but the outcome could’ve been very different were it not for a dubious ‘low blow’ call against Dubois.
Following that defeat to Usyk, Dubois once again picked himself back up to earn back-to-back knockout wins against Jarrell Miller and Filip Hrgovic and he heads back to his home city as IBF heavyweight champion.
Anthony Joshua returns to the scene of arguably his greatest win to date having defeated legendary heavyweight Wladimir Klitschko in front of 90,000 people at Wembley Stadium in April 2017. AJ is bidding to become a three-time heavyweight world champion almost three years to the day since losing his WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO belts to Oleksandr Usyk at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Successive defeats to Oleksandr Usyk coupled with a shock loss to Andy Ruiz Jr left many writing Joshua off but under new trainer Ben Davidson, Anthony Joshua has reestablished himself as a major force in the heavyweight division. Since losing to Usyk for the second time, AJ has won four straight fights against Jermaine Franklin, Robert Helenius, Otto Wallin and Francis Ngannou.

Betting Tips
We’re expecting fireworks in London on Saturday evening with both Dubois and Joshua amongst the most clinical boxers in the heavyweight division. 20 of Dubois’ 21 wins have come inside the distance whilst Joshua has earned 25 knockouts in his 28 wins. DAZN Bet’s 1/4 for the fight not going the distance is excellent value.
Dubois came out all guns blazing against Filip Hrgovic and was on the receiving end of numerous big right hands in the early rounds, his pre-fight comments suggested a similar gung-ho approach on Saturday.
Dubois stated:
“I aim to knock him out. That's the programme. That's the mindset, that's the intention coming into this fight. I'm going to focus my whole life into destroying it and just being a good destroyer, a good conqueror. Don't wait. Go out there. Smash him.”
Adopting these all-out-attack tactics against Joshua could be fatal to Dubois’ hopes of defending his world title. Joshua is priced at 6/1 to win inside three rounds and this should be given real consideration.
Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn reiterated this sentiment, stating
“If you get hit by Anthony Joshua at the moment, you are going to sleep. If Daniel Dubois comes out aggressively like he did against Hrgovic, you're going to get a fire fight. And if he makes one mistake, it's night-night for Daniel Dubois.”
The Matchroom chairman continued,
"In all boxing, you're only one punch away from a disaster, particularly when you've got two huge punching, fast heavyweights. That's the beauty of this match-up."
As we anticipate an all-out war between these two big-punching British heavyweights, over 1.5 knockdowns looks a shrewd bet at Evens whilst DAZN Bet’s 100/30 on both fighters to be knocked down is generously priced.

What’s Next For The Winner?
All roads lead to undisputed for both Dubois and Joshua. With Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury’s much-anticipated rematch scheduled for December 21st, an undisputed fight between both fight winners should be on the cards in the summer of 2025.
