The latest Riyadh Season spectacular offers a superb undercard and one of the biggest fights in years and here at betting.bet we'll provide an enhanced fight night preview, including exclusive betting tips, broadcasting information and the latest fight odds from our betting partners at DAZN Bet.
Road to Riyadh
Both Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol head to Saudi Arabia unbeaten and on Saturday aim to become the first undisputed light-heavyweight champion this century. Following equally impressive amateur careers, Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol have long been on a collision course with all roads now leading to Riyadh. Artur Beterbiev holds the WBC, WBO and IBF belts and heads to Saudi Arabia boasting a perfect 20 wins from 20 professional fights with an incredible 100% KO record. Beterbiev’s most recent bout was a seventh-round stoppage win over Callum Smith back in January.
Beterbiev won the vacant IBF light-heavyweight title with a twelfth-round stoppage of Enrico Kolling and has since gone on to make eight successful world title defences. Beterbiev unified the division with wins over WBC champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk and WBO title holder Joe Smith Jr. in 2019 and 2022 respectively.
Dimitry Bivol has a perfect 23-0 record and won the WBA interim light-heavyweight title in just his seventh professional bout. The calibre of opponents beaten by Bivol is arguably a lot stronger than those defeated by Beterbiev however, Bivol has earned just twelve wins inside the distance. Bivol’s most notable victory was undoubtedly his unanimous points win over Canelo Alvarez in Las Vegas in 2022.

Betting Tips
Boxing fans and pundits alike are divided on the most likely outcome on Saturday night, whilst the bookies make Bivol the slight favourite. Each fighter’s professional record would suggest either a Beterbiev knockout or a Bivol points win are the most likely outcomes and at odds of 17/10 or 11/10 respectively, these are both viable betting options.
Artur Beterbiev’s relentless pressure and spiteful punching power has seen his rise to the top of the division. Ranked as the best light-heavyweight in the world, Beterbiev is the only current world champion with a 100% knockout record. However, is father time about to catch up with the Canadian? Beterbiev is just two months off 40 now and has been dogged by injuries over the past couple of years; how will his body hold out if the fight does move into the latter stages? If Bivol can avoid that overhand right in the early stages of the fight he could begin to break his opponent down in the latter rounds. If Bivol is to score a knockout win then rounds 10-12 could prove massively overpriced at 25/1.
However, avoiding that overhand right of Beterbiev could be easier said than done. Beterbiev will not stop coming forward and that same punch rocked Bivol in his fight against Joe Smith Jr. back in 2019. Three of Beterbiev’s last four wins have come in rounds 7-9 and he is priced at 13/2 to win at the same stage on Saturday night.
Joe Smith Jr. remains the only mutual opponent for these two fights and it’s hard not to compare the victories of both Beterbiev and Bivol against the American. Whilst Bivol was rocked on his way to a unanimous points win over Smith Jr. Beterbiev was clinical, knocking his opponent down three times inside the opening two rounds before the referee intervened. We have to side with Beterbiev on Saturday and a stoppage win for the 39-year-old is our recommendation at odds of 17/10.

The Undercard
Once again Riyadh Season has thrown together a superb undercard, the highlight of which is the rematch between British heavyweights Fabio Wardley and Frazer Clark. Wardley’s British title will once again be on the line on Saturday evening and if the bout is half as entertaining as their split decision draw shared at the O2 Arena in March we’re in for one hell of a fight! Fabio Wardley is the slight favourite at 8/13 whilst Clark is priced at 11/10.
Jai Opetaia will defend his IBF cruiserweight title against Jack Massey. If Opetaia successfully defends his title, a potential super-fight against the winner of Beterbiev v Bivol could be on the cards for the unbeaten Australian. Opetaia is the overwhelming favourite at 1/33 with DAZN Bet.
