Form
Brentford have slipped to 13th in the Premier League table following a run of just one win in five league games. The Bees lost 2-1 at Manchester United at the weekend despite leading 1-0 at the interval. However, their home record is excellent, winning three and drawing one of their four home league games so far.
Ipswich Town are yet to win a game on their return to the Premier League and head to West London with just four points in eight matches so far. The Tractor Boys head into the weekend on the back of successive defeats against West Ham United (4-1) and Everton (2-0)
Brentford v Ipswich Town: Head-to-Head
As mentioned, Brentford and Ipswich Town have never met in the top-flight. Their most recent meeting was a Championship fixture at Griffin Park where Brentford ran out 2-0 winners. Brentford have lost just one of their last nine matches against Ipswich Town and none of the last three.
Betting Tips
Brentford’s excellent home record in the Premier League this season has to make them favourites on Saturday and Thomas Frank’s side look good value at 4/6 to claim all three points at the Brentford Community Stadium. Incredibly, Brentford have taken the lead in seven of their eight Premier League games so far this season, including each of the last six. The traditional fast starters are priced at 11/10 to be leading at half-time.
Whilst we expect Brentford to win on Saturday, they have not kept a single clean sheet in the Premier League this season, this does make both teams to score decent value at 4/6. Alternatively, these bets can be combined with Brentford to win and both teams to score our bet of the day at 2/1.
Ethan Pinnock has scored in back-to-back matches for Brentford and whilst the central defender is by no means prolific in front of goal, he does offer solid value at 11/1 to score at any time. Only Erling Haaland has outscored Bryan Mbeumo in the Premier League this season and he is a far more realistic option in the game’s various goalscorer markets. Eyeing a seventh Premier League goal of the season, Mbeumo is 7/5 to score at any time or 9/2 to score first for the third time in five league games.
Sam Morsy leads the way for fouls, yellow cards and tackles for Ipswich Town this season and with the Ipswich Town captain said to be right in the thick of any midfield battles on Saturday he is the obvious choice to be carded. Morsy is 6/4 to be booked at Brentford or 7/1 to be the first player to be carded during the game.
