Brighton have slipped to eighth in the Premier League table following a return of just one point from their last two league games. The Seagulls threw away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 against Wolves in their most recent home league game whilst they have since lost twice to Liverpool, once in the League Cup (3-2) and once Premier League (2-1). Brighton remain unbeaten at home in the Premier League this season, winning two and drawing three of their five league games at the Amex.

Manchester City have slipped to second in the Premier League after losing their first league game of the season at AFC Bournemouth (2-1) last time out. Pep Guardiola’s side are enduring a mini slump having lost three successive matches in three different competitions over the past week and a half. Manchester City were eliminated from the League Cup with a 2-1 loss at Spurs whilst last time out they were blown away by Ruben Amorim’s Sporting Lisbon, losing 4-1 in a UEFA Champions League tie.

Brighton may receive a double fitness boost ahead of the visit of Manchester City with both Matt O’Riley and Joao Pedro likely to be involved. O’Riley is yet to make his Premier League debut, sustaining an ankle injury on his Brighton debut in a League Cup tie back in August. Joao Pedro has not featured since September’s 2-2 draw at home to Nottingham Forest. Lewis Dunk and Yankuba Minteh are unlikely to be involved.

Kevin de Bruyne featured as a late substitute in the midweek loss at Sporting Lisbon and could make a return to the Premier League for the first time since September 14th. De Bruyne’s return to fitness would offer a timely boost to Pep Guardiola’s injury-hit side. Manchester City will be without Rodri, Ruben Dias, Jack Grealish and Oscar Bobb on Saturday whilst John Stones is a major doubt.

Phil Foden has scored six goals in Manchester City’s last four games away at Brighton and also opened the scoring in Tuesday’s 4-1 drubbing away at Sporting Lisbon. The England international looks excellent value at 15/8 to score at any time at Brighton.

Danny Welbeck has rolled back the years in the first few months of the season as the 33-year-old has netted six times in Brignton’s first ten games in the Premier League. Welbeck is 3/1 to score against Manchester City.
