JCB Triumph Trial Juvenile Hurdle (Registered As The Prestbury Juvenile Hurdle) (Grade 2) (GBB Race)

PRAIRIE ANGEL - 4/1

Saturday's racing kicks off with a wide-open Grade 2 JCB Triumph Trial Juvenile Hurdle. Contested by three-year-olds over a distance of just over two miles, there are ten runners confirmed for this year’s renewal. East India Dock heads to Cheltenham after a very promising hurdling debut at Wincanton last month. East India Dock was a very talented stayer on the flat for previous trainer James Fanshawe and he has an excellent chance of landing the opener for the James Owen yard.

My Noble Lord also made a winning start to life over hurdles, taking a two mile contest at Chepstow five weeks ago. Trainers Oliver Greenall & Josh Guerriero are in decent form at present and he could go close in this. Versatile sort, actually made his debut over 7f and although he kept on well last time out, there has to be a question mark over his stamina in a race of this quality.

Filly Prairie Angel could be the pick of the bunch in the opener having won twice over hurdles over 2m1f over in Ireland. A dual flat winner also, ticks a lot of boxes regarding speed and stamina. As long as her hurdling holds up, she could be the one to beat.

Paddy Power Arkle Challenge Trophy Trial Novices' Chase (Grade 2) (Reg' As The November) (GBB Race)

LOOKAWAY - 5/2

This Arkle Trial could turn into a two-horse race between odds-on favourite L’Eau du Sud and Lookaway. Trainer Dan Skelton admits this race has long been the target for L’Eau du Sud and he certainly impressed on his chase debut at Stratford last month. L’Eau du Sud was a very capable hurdler and finished second in the County Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival back in March.

Lookaway won a Grade 2 novice hurdle at Cheltenham twelve months ago and impressed on his chase debut at Uttoxeter two weeks ago. Will undoubtedly come on from his chase debut after dispatching of a useful rival there. Looks to have plenty of improvement left in him and he could be set for a big season over obstacles

Paddy Power Gold Cup Handicap Chase (Premier Handicap) (GBB Race)

GINNY'S DESTINY - 11/4

The Paddy Power Gold Cup is the feature race on day two of the November Meeting and this year’s renewal looks red-hot. Contested over 2m4f by horses aged four years and over, there are 15 confirmed runners for this year’s renewal. Leading the betting is Ginny’s Destiny for trainer Paul Nicholls. Ginny’s Destiny was involved in some excellent races at Cheltenham last season and landed a novices’ handicap over C&D during last year’s meeting. That ten-length win was the first of a hat-trick of wins at Cheltenham over the winner before placing second in a thrilling Turners renewal at the Cheltenham Festival in March. Again had to settle for minor places when second in a Grade 1 contest at Aintree in April but primed to bounce back on Saturday.

The bookies’ latest odds suggest Ga Law will pose the biggest danger to Ginny’s Destiny and like the favourite he heads into Saturday as a previous C&D winner. Won this contest two years ago but pulled up in the Ryanair Chase back in March. 2/2 in handicaps at Cheltenham and has to be respected. Protektorat won the Ryanair Chase earlier this year but will do well to land this off 13lbs higher in the weights. Definitely a big enough price to consider as a serious each-way prospect.
