EFL Weekend Acca - Saturday Special (7th December)

Sheffield Wednesday, Blackburn Rovers, Wrexham, Huddersfield Town & MK Dons to win - 62/1

After the drama of last weekend’s FA Cup second round, the league once again becomes the priority for sides in League One and League Two as well as the Championship this coming weekend. On Saturday there are a total of 33 matches scheduled across the three divisions of the English Football League and here at betting.bet our resident tipsters have once again picked out an intriguing five-fold accumulator bet. As well as tips and match insights, this week’s EFL odds are provided by our partners at Ladbrokes.

EFL Acca Odds - 62/1

  • Sheffield Wednesday to win (10/11)
  • Blackburn Rovers to win (17/10)
  • Wrexham to win (19/20)
  • Huddersfield Town to win (23/20)
  • MK Dons to win (19/10)

Sheffield Wednesday v Preston North End

Sheffield Wednesday to win - 10/11

Preston North End have failed to win a single league game away from home since March and on Saturday face a tough trip to Hillsborough in one of the division’s three fixtures set to kick off at 12:30. Sheffield Wednesday have climbed into the top half of the league table with successive wins over Hull City and Derby County. The Owls are one of the few sides with more than half of their points in the Championship this season coming away from home but we’re tipping them to earn a third straight league win this weekend.

Hull City v Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn Rovers to win - 17/10

Managerless Hull City are in desperate form and head into the weekend in the Championship relegation zone. The Tigers’ 3-1 defeat at Middlesbrough was a fifth straight loss in the league whilst they are now winless in ten Championship matches. On Saturday they host a rejuvenated Blackburn Rovers side that have overcome a blip to record three straight league wins. Blackburn Rovers impressed in a 1-0 win over Leeds United at Ewood Park last weekend and have also recorded back-to-back away league games for the first time this season.

Burton Albion v Wrexham

Wrexham to win - 19/20

High-flying Wrexham have won just two of their eight league games away from home this season but now travel to a Burton Albion side that possess the worst home record in League One. Burton Albion have lost back-to-back home league games without scoring a single goal whilst their last fixture at the Pirelli Stadium saw them dumped out of the FA Cup by National League outfit Tamworth. Wrexham have won three straight league games but all three matches were played at the Racecourse Ground. The Welsh side’s last away league game was a 1-0 defeat at Stockport County.

Mansfield Town v Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield Town to win - 23/20

The form book would suggest that an away win is a safe bet at Field Mill on Saturday. Mansfield Town have slipped away from their early season promotion push with just one point in their last five league games whilst Huddersfield Town have risen to fourth with three straight wins and no defeats in eight. Huddersfield Town ended a run of four away league games without a win last time out at Leyton Orient and look a real threat to any side in the third tier.

Barrow v MK Dons

MK Dons to win - 19/10

MK Dons are undoubtedly the form team in the division and head into the weekend on the back of six straight wins in League Two. MK Dons lost their first three away league games of the season but have since taken ten points from a possible twelve on the road. Saturday’s hosts, Barrow have slipped into the bottom half of the League Two table with no win in their last nine league games. Barrow’s first five home league games produced four wins and one draw but they have earned just two points from their subsequent four league games at Holker Street.
