The Premier League action continues to come thick and fast with another full complement of English top-flight fixtures scheduled to take place between Saturday and Monday. At the beginning of what could be a pivotal month at both the top and bottom of the Premier League table, this weekend’s matches include some mouth-watering encounters.
We get underway with a Merseyside derby at Goodison Park, Sunday’s fixtures include a London derby between Spurs and Chelsea at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium whilst the week concludes with a must-win game between West Ham United and Wolves on Monday evening. Here at betting.bet we’ll oversee the action, providing a Premier League available at a huge 24/5 with BetMGM.
Premier League Treble Odds - 24/5
- Aston Villa to win (4/11)
- Newcastle United to win (13/10)
- West Ham United to win (4/5)
Aston Villa v Southampton
Aston Villa to win - 4/11
Aston Villa won for the first time in eight matches last time out and on Saturday they should build on that 3-1 win over Brentford when Southampton visit Villa Park. Despite earning just two points in five league games before defeating Brentford, Aston Villa sit just four points outside the top four. However, ahead of what looks like a difficult run of fixtures over the festive period, they’ll need three points on Saturday if they’re to remain in contention for European qualification into the new year.
Southampton were woeful at home to Chelsea on Wednesday evening and were lucky to have only conceded five. The Saints are rock-bottom of the Premier League table with just one win in 14 matches all season. This looks like a home banker at Villa Park
Brentford v Newcastle United
Newcastle United to win - 13/10
Brentford boast the Premier League’s best home record and the joint-worst away record so they’ll be relieved to be back in West London on Saturday. The Bees have won six and drawn one of their seven home league games so far and will attract plenty of support in the betting, especially amongst those that follow the form. However, the seven visitors to the Brentford Community Stadium so far are all currently ranked 13th or lower and include all of the division’s bottom five.
Newcastle United will pose a much stiffer test for Thomas Frank’s side and make the long trip south in good spirits after sharing the points in a thrilling 3-3 draw at home to leaders Liverpool on Wednesday evening. Alexander Isak scored the opening goal on Wednesday and has netted twice in his side’s last three away league games. We’re tipping the Swedish international to guide Newcastle United to a first win in four league games on Saturday.
West Ham United v Wolverhampton Wanderers
West Ham United to win - 4/5
We feel this Monday Night Football fixture is last chance saloon for the managers of both West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers and the volume of bets placed on Wolves boss Gary O’Neil to be axed is quite telling. Wolves were completely outplayed in a 4-0 defeat at Everton on Wednesday evening whilst the fact that West Ham United left the King Power Stadium on Tuesday evening without at least a point was remarkable. The Hammers earned 61.1% possession and had 31 shots on goals yet somehow went down to a 3-1 defeat at Leicester City. West Ham have taken seven points from their last four home league games and we’re tipping them to earn all three points next Monday.
