EFL Weekend Acca - Saturday Special (11th January)

Barnsley, Huddersfield Town, Walsall, MK Dons & Port Vale - 24/1
The FA Cup third round will inevitably take centre stage this weekend but there are still twelve fixtures scheduled for Saturday across League One and League Two. Here at betting.bet our resident tipsters have put together a five-fold accumulator bet available at odds of 24/1 with our betting partners at Betfred.
EFL Acca Odds - 24/1
- Barnsley to win (4/6)
- Huddersfield Town to win (8/11)
- Walsall to win (4/7)
- MK Dons to win (6/4)
- Port Vale to win (23/20)
Northampton Town v Barnsley
Barnsley to win - 4/6
Northampton Town claimed a massive three points at relegation rivals Burton Albion last weekend but a first league win in six matches and just a second league win since October is not enough to see The Cobblers clear of danger just yet. On Saturday they’ll host a Barnsley side with one of the best away records in League One.
Barnsley have taken 25 points from twelve away league games and have moved into the League One play-off places with four league wins on the spin. The Tykes have kicked off 2025 with wins over both Crawley Town (3-0) and Wrexham (2-1) and we don’t see anything but another Barnsley win on Saturday.
Shrewsbury Town v Huddersfield Town
Huddersfield Town to win - 8/11
Shrewsbury Town’s four-game unbeaten run in League One came to an end last weekend when they lost 1-0 to in-form Leyton Orient. Gareth Ainsworth’s side are eight points from safety and have won just three of their twelve home league games so far.
Huddersfield Town are the highest-ranked English side in league action at the weekend and the side currently sat fourth in League One can move to within three points of league leaders Birmingham City. The Terriers are in excellent form and head into the weekend unbeaten in 15 league games and on the back of a deserved 1-0 win away at high-flying Wycombe Wanderers last time out.
Walsall v Tranmere Rovers
Walsall to win - 4/7
Walsall are charging towards promotion from League Two and have opened up a ten-point lead at the league’s summit with seven straight wins. The league leaders are unbeaten in 14 matches and boast the division’s best home record with just one defeat in twelve at the Bescot Stadium.
Tranmere Rovers have won just two of their last nine league games and both wins came against sides currently languishing in the bottom five of the division. An away trip to a Walsall side in red-hot form looks an impossible task for Nigel Adkins’ side.
Carlisle United v Milton Keynes Dons
MK Dons to win - 6/4
Carlisle United possess one of the worst home records in League Two with just nine points and two wins in twelve home league games so far. Mike Williamson’s side are rock-bottom of the EFL following a run of one win in nine matches.
MK Dons are the visitors to Brunton Park on Saturday and head to Cumbria on the back of four wins in their last five away league games. MK Dons are currently six points adrift of the play-offs and could extend their excellent away record on Saturday.
Port Vale v Barrow
Port Vale to win - 23/20
Port Vale ended a run of nine games without a win last time out to get their stuttering promotion challenge back on track. Darren Moore’s side topped the League Two table in November before dropping out of the automatic promotion places with five draws and three defeats prior to their deserved 2-1 win away at promotion rivals Doncaster Rovers last time out.
Barrow have won just two of their twelve away league games so far and head to Vale Park on a four-game winless streak. Having seen their own promotion hopes drift away we’re not expecting them to halt Port Vale’s resurgence.
