Form
Brentford sit 11th in the Premier League table with 28 points from their 21 matches so far. However, an incredible 23 of those 28 points have been earned at the Gtech Community Stadium as The Bees boast the third best home record but the third worst away record in the Premier League. Thomas Frank’s side fought back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at home to Manchester City last time out. Bremntford have now earned four points in their last two matches having gone four games without a win prior to that.
Liverpool remain on top of the Premier League table and well on course for title number 20. The Reds are four points ahead of Arsenal in first position having played one game fewer than all of their title rivals. Liverpool have drawn back-to-back league games against Manchester United (2-2) and Nottingham Forest (1-1) but are now unbeaten in 16 Premier League matches. Away from Anfield, Liverpool have not lost a Premier League game since April and a return of 24 points from ten away league games this season represents the best away record in the Premier League.
Brentford v Liverpool: Head-to-Head
Liverpool have an excellent record against Brentford and head into the weekend’s fixture on a four-game winning streak against The Bees. Arne Slot’s Liverpool won 2-0 in the reverse fixture at Anfield back in August whilst they also claimed a convincing 4-1 win in the corresponding fixture in West London last season.
Betting Tips
Brentford may have a superb home record but they have shown some vulnerabilities recently and are currently winless in four home games in all competitions. This coupled with Liverpool’s excellent head-to-head record against Brentford makes an away win superb value at 23/50.
Mohamed Salah has scored in four consecutive games for Liverpool against Brentford and given the red-hot form Liverpool’s talisman finds himself in this season you’d be rather foolish not to consider him in the various goalscorer markets on Saturday. Salah has already scored 18 Premier League goals this season and is priced at 8/11 to score at any time away at Brentford. Alternatively you can back the Egyptian forward at 29/10 to score first.
Brentford have the Premier League’s best disciplinary record by some distance having accumulated just 31 yellow cards in their 21 matches to date whilst Liverpool’s record of 42 yellow cards is bettered only by Brentford, Manchester City (40) and Tottenham Hotspur (41). Under 2.5 cards for Brentford is available at 4/9 whilst the 13/25 on offer for under 4.5 total cards looks equally appealing.
