Where To Watch PSG v Manchester City
PSG v Manchester City is arguably the standout fixture on matchday seven of the league stage of this season’s UEFA Champions League. The action gets underway at the Parc des Princes at 8pm UK time. Live television coverage of all UEFA Champions League fixtures is available in the UK via TNT Sports. PSG v Manchester City will be broadcast on TNT Sports 1 with extended highlights available on BBC1 from 10:40pm. Live radio coverage of the fixture is available at BBC Radio 5 Live.
Form
PSG are on course for a fourth straight Ligue 1 title having opened up a nine-point lead over Olympique Marseille with four successive league wins. Luis Enrique’s side are unbeaten through their first 18 league games, earning 46 out of a possible 54 points. The twelve-time French champions boast the division’s best attack and defence having scored 48 goals, conceding just 16.
However, PSG’s fortunes in the Champions League have been very different. The 2019/20 losing finalists are languishing in 26th position going into Wednesday’s fixture having won just two of their first six matches in the competition. PSG won 3-0 at Red Bull Salzburg last time out but have failed to win any of their two most recent home games.
Manchester City have got over their mid-season wobble and are now unbeaten in six matches in all competitions. Pep Guardiola’s side still sit a lowly fifth in the Premier League table, some twelve points adrift of leaders Liverpool but warmed up for their trip to Paris with a comprehensive 6-0 win at Ipswich Town in the Premier League.
Like PSG, Manchester City are yet to really hit top gear in this season’s Champions League. The 2022/23 European champions sit just two positions and one point above Wednesday’s hosts in the final unseeded play-off place. Manchester City have also won just two of their six matches in the competition so far and head into week seven with a return of just one point from their last three Champions League matches.
PSG v Manchester City: Head-to-Head
Manchester City have a solid record against Paris Saint-Germain, losing just one of their last seven matches against Wednesday’s hosts. However, that solitary defeat came on their most recent visit to the Parc des Princes. Mauricio Pochettino oversaw a 2-0 PSG win in the 2021/22 group stage. The most recent meeting between the two sides came that same season as Manchester City won 2-1 in the reverse fixture at the Etihad Stadium in November 2021.
Betting.Bet Betting Tips
PSG are on a decent run of form, especially on the domestic front, but we’re tipping Pep Gaurdiola’s Manchester City to move one step closer to the last-16 with a priceless win at the Parc des Princes. The visitors are excellent value at 6/4 to take all three points on Wednesday.
With one game left to play after this week’s showdown in Paris, a draw may be enough to see both sides still qualify for the play-offs however, if either side was to lose on Wednesday evening it could spell disaster for the future participation in the competition. Therefore, we are expecting a cagey start to this fixture. The second half to produce the most goals is our bet of the day at 10/11 with BoyleSports whilst we also like the 4/5 on offer for the match to be level after 30 minutes.
Despite his side’s struggles in the Champions League this season, Erling Haaland has netted five goals in six matches in the competition and is eyeing a third UEFA Champions League Golden Boot. The Norway international was back amongst the goals at Ipswich Town on the weekend and will prove popular at 6/5 in the any time goalscorer market. Haaland can also be backed at 4/1 to score the game’s opening goal.
If you follow the form book then it is Phil Foden and not Erling Haaland that’ll be grabbing your attention in the various goalscorer markets. Foden has scored five goals in Manchester City’s last three Premier League games, including back-to-back braces away at Brentford and Ipswich Town. Foden has already scored three times in this season’s Champions League and it priced at 11/4 to score at any time on Wednesday.
Not a single Paris Saint-Germain player has scored more than one goal in the Champions League this season which explains why most of the club’s leading attackers remain very ‘backable’ in Wednesday’s anytime goalscorer market. According to the latest odds from BoyleSports, Randal Kolo Muani is the main danger for the hosts. However, we are going to tip Bradley Barcola to continue his decent run of form by scoring against Manchester City. Barcola is PSG’s top goal scorer in Ligue 1 with eleven goals in 18 matches and has scored in back-to-back matches for the French side. Barcola is a huge 5/2 to score at any time or 7/1 to score first.
