About the BoyleSports Lockinge Stakes
The Lockinge Stakes is a prestigious Group 1 flat race open to horses aged four and older. Held at Newbury over a distance of one mile, it became part of the British Champions Series in 2011 and currently stands as the second leg in the mile division which culminates in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes on Champions Day in October.
Many of the top milers use the Lockinge as a stepping stone to the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot. Notably, the legendary Frankel was the last horse to win both races in the same season, completing the feat in 2012.
