Grosvenor Sport NBA In-Play Cash Back: 10% of Your Losses Back Every Week

The new NBA season is a week old and it’s already thrown up plenty for punters to get stuck into. Oklahoma City, Houston and Memphis all went through October without a defeat, and Detroit and the LA Lakers won their first three. At the other end of the table, the New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets and Miami Heat are still looking for their first win.

Early-season form in basketball can be misleading. Squads are still bedding in, star players have their minutes managed and the bookies are still adjusting their prices. That makes the opening weeks a good time to bet, but also a time when plenty of bets go wrong, especially when a big lead slips away in the final quarter.

That’s where Grosvenor Sport’s offer helps. All season long, including the play-offs and Finals, Grosvenor Sport refunds 10% of your NBA in-play losses as cash, up to £100 a week. It isn’t a free bet with strings attached. The money goes straight into your cash balance every Wednesday.

Why basketball works so well in-play

Few sports move as quickly as basketball. With well over 200 points scored in a typical NBA game and momentum swinging every few minutes, the prices change constantly. For in-play punters, that opens up markets you can’t really get the best of before the start:

  • Handicap betting that updates with every scoring run.
  • Total points over/under, adjusted as the pace of the game becomes clear.
  • Match betting on a side that falls behind early but looks like coming back.
  • Quarter and half betting when a team starts slowly or rests its key players.

The one thing to watch is the minimum odds of 1/2. Once a side races clear, its in-play price can shorten well below that, and those bets won’t count. The offer is better suited to backing a fightback or playing the points markets than to backing a runaway favourite.

It’s also a good fit for UK fans. The US clocks go back on 1 November, so most NBA games start between midnight and 3.30am UK time. If you’re up watching, every in-play bet is now partly covered.

Pick of next week’s NBA fixtures

The first full week of the offer runs from Wednesday 4 to Tuesday 10 November. These are the games we’re looking forward to (all UK times):

  • Cleveland Cavaliers v Oklahoma City Thunder (Thursday, 1am). Last season’s Western Conference finalists host one of the strongest sides in the East. It’s an early test of whether the Thunder’s unbeaten start will last.
  • Minnesota Timberwolves v Houston Rockets (Thursday, 1.30am). Houston’s strong start meets a tough, defensive Minnesota side. It could be a low-scoring game, so keep an eye on the total points line.
  • NBA Cup night (Saturday 7 November). The NBA’s in-season cup competition continues, and the results also count towards the league table. Oklahoma City v Memphis (1am) pits two of October’s unbeaten sides against each other, and Philadelphia v Cleveland (12.30am) is a big game in their cup group.
  • LA Lakers v Detroit Pistons (Sunday, 11pm). Two of the season’s fastest starters meet at a rare UK-friendly time, so you won’t need to stay up until the early hours to bet in-play.
  • Boston Celtics v Milwaukee Bucks (Monday, 1am). It’s a meeting of two familiar Eastern Conference rivals, and Milwaukee need a result after a slow start.
