We took one bet builder for Manchester City v PSG and asked every UK bookmaker on our books to price it. The three legs were Erling Haaland to score anytime, a 2 2 correct score and under 7.5 corners in the match.

The results were stark. The same £10 bet returns £660 at the best price and £270 at the worst. That is a £390 difference for an identical bet, and it is why shopping around matters more on bet builders than on any other bet type.

£660 or £270 for the same bet

William Hill came out on top at 65/1, returning £660 from a £10 stake. At the other end, BetVictor, Parimatch, talkSPORT BET and Betano all offered just 26/1, returning £270. The most common price was 40/1, offered by 15 sites including Tigerbet, Unibet and 32Red Sport.

The bigger problem: missing markets

Seven of the 46 bookmakers could not price the bet at all. Five of them, QuinnBet, Betray, Betfred, DAZN Bet and Tote, do not offer an Under 7.5 corners market. Kwiff would not allow the correct score and goalscorer to be combined in one bet builder. Betdaq has no bet builder product at all.

Why seven bookmakers could not price the bet

This is the part that should worry punters most. If a site does not offer the markets you want, you end up changing your bet to fit what is available. You came to back Haaland to score in a 2 2 draw with few corners, and you leave with a completely different bet because the site could not accommodate yours.

Three takeaways for punters

First, always compare bet builder prices. A £390 gap on a £10 bet is not a rounding error, it is the difference between a great win and a disappointing one.

Second, check the markets exist before you start building. Our bet builder tips page shows which sites handle combination bets properly.

Third, do not let a missing market talk you into a different bet. If one site cannot price what you want, another will.
