Early payout explained

2-Up: paid out two goals ahead

2-Up hands you a result before the referee does. Back a team on an eligible market, watch them go two goals clear, and the bet is settled as a winner on the spot. Everything after that is entertainment. The comeback, the nervy last ten minutes, the equaliser deep into stoppage time, none of it can take the money back. Below you will find how it works, which betting sites run it and the small print that decides whether your bet qualifies.

Four steps

How 2-Up works

The mechanics are simple, and the details that trip people up are all in the first two steps.

Find an eligible market

Check the bookmaker's promotion page and current terms to confirm which football markets qualify before placing your bet.

Bet before kick off

Most bookmakers only accept pre match stakes, so place the bet before the whistle rather than waiting for the game to settle down.

Wait for the two goal lead

The moment your team is two clear, the bet settles as a winner on the official feed and the winnings land in your balance.

Get Paid Out

Don't worry if your team ends up losing or drawing. A late comeback cannot touch a settled bet. Your payout stands whether the match finishes level or your team loses.

A worked example

You stake 20 pounds on Arsenal to beat Chelsea at evens on the 2UP full time result market before kick off. Arsenal lead 2-0 after half an hour, and your bet is settled there and then for a 40 pound return. Chelsea score twice in the second half and the match ends 2-2. The standard match result market pays out on the draw, yet your 2-Up bet has already been paid as a winner. Same match, two winning outcomes, one of them yours.

The two goal lead only has to happen once. It does not need to be held.

Settlement follows the official data feed, so a goal overturned by VAR can be corrected.

Strong favourites are the natural fit, because a two goal cushion is the likeliest route to an early payout.

Prices still matter more than promotions over a season, so compare the same selection across betting sites before you place a 2-Up bet, then check member promotions for the rest of the extras your account already qualifies for.

Recent 2-Up payout matches

Matches from the leagues we cover where a side went two clear and still failed to win. A 2-Up bet on that side was settled as a winner the moment the second goal went in.

Terms that decide your payout

Wording differs by operator, and these five clauses are where a qualifying bet is won or lost.

Pre match only

Most bookmakers restrict the offer to bets placed before kick off. Some accept only singles, others allow singles and multiples. In play bets do not qualify.

Eligible markets

Eligibility varies by bookmaker. Check the promotion page, market label and current terms before placing your bet. A standard match result bet may not qualify automatically.

Ninety minutes

The offer counts regular time plus injury time only, typically ninety minutes. Extra time and penalty shootouts do not trigger an early payout.

No cash out

Some bookmakers remove Cash Out from 2-Up bets, so once you are on, you are on until the market settles. Where cash out is offered, taking it before the two goal lead lands means you settle at the cash out price and give up the early payout.

Payout caps

Most books apply stake limits rather than a hard cap. Limits may apply per market and odds are subject to fluctuation, so check the per market limits before you place the bet.

Availability moves

Competition coverage varies by event, region and account, and operators can withdraw the market at any time.
